42335 is the Vortice MP 454 T, a medium-pressure industrial axial fan on a 450 mm wall plate. A three-phase four-pole motor wired for 220/380 V or 240/415 V turns a six-blade impeller at 1,400 rpm for up to 6,800 m3/h and 339 Pa, with a 70 C ambient rating.

A medium-pressure axial fan for ducts, filters and wall extraction

The MP range differs from the low-pressure A-E and E series in one respect: the booklet describes it as a medium-pressure industrial axial fan, designed for installation in ventilation ducts or for extraction through filters in applications where load loss has to be overcome. That is why the MP 454 T pairs a 450 mm port with a 339 Pa maximum pressure, roughly double the 154 Pa of the A-E 636 T.

The wall plate is phosphated pressed steel with a hammered-effect polyester powder coat, and the ventilation port is made in one piece with the plate and gauged for airflow. The motor is an asynchronous three-phase AC unit with double shielded ball bearings, insulation class F. Six wing-profile polypropylene blades sit on a diecast aluminium hub and are balanced to UNI ISO 1940 class 6.3.

MP 454 T sits mid-range. The MP 404 T (4,300 m3/h, 177 Pa, 330 W) is the smaller step, the MP 504 T (8,800 m3/h, 363 Pa, 1,200 W) and MP 604 T (14,500 m3/h, 388 Pa, 2,350 W) the larger ones. The MP 506 T (6,100 m3/h, 167 Pa) and MP 606 T (10,000 m3/h, 177 Pa) trade pressure for lower speed and noise.

Select on the combination of airflow and pressure, with the duct and filter loss added up. The booklet warns that if the chosen product exceeds 70 dB(A) at 3 m, adequate noise damping must be fitted or personal protective equipment used; the data sheet gives 66.5 dB(A) for this model.

Installation and operation notes

The booklet requires safety frame and gravity shutter protection if the fan is installed lower than 2.5 m above the floor, and forbids use in potentially explosive or flammable atmospheres or for extracting acidic or corrosive fumes. Connect the motor in star or delta according to the supply (380 or 415 V star, 220 or 240 V delta, as the dual rating indicates), through a motor-protection device set to the data-plate current.

Check that the extracted air is not dusty; dust on the motor body can reduce cooling.

Applications in Oman and the GCC

Extraction through filters or ducts in industrial kitchens, workshops, laundries, plant rooms and food-processing areas where moderate pressure loss must be overcome. The 70 C ambient rating is useful in hot process zones.

Sizing and maintenance notes

Medium-pressure axial fans are selected where the fan has to overcome duct or filter resistance. Calculate the pressure loss of the system, including filters at their dirty condition, grilles, bends and any louvres, and select the fan at that point on its curve. If filters are used, plan regular cleaning or replacement, because a blocked filter reduces airflow quickly in dusty locations.

The 70 C ambient rating suits hot plant rooms and roof spaces, but direct sun on the motor should still be avoided where possible. Inspect the impeller, motor and fixing bolts during routine maintenance.
