EBRO T 211-A PTFE-Lined Wafer Type Butterfly Valve

Description

A fully PTFE-lined butterfly valve for corrosive and toxic media

The T 211-A is a fully PTFE-lined wafer type butterfly valve made for corrosive and aggressive media. EBRO ARMATUREN highlights a patented shaft seal design that keeps the valve reliable even in highly corrosive service. The body is split, the isolation height follows the plant prescription, and the body is nodular cast iron with a PTFE lining, and the parts list shows a one-piece duplex stainless steel disc and shaft that can also be PTFE coated.

Sizes run from DN 50 (with a DN 40 variant marked in the table) to DN 300. The data sheet gives a maximum operating pressure of 10 bar, or 16 bar for a special version, and a temperature range of -40 °C to +200 °C depending on operating pressure.

Shaft seal and features

The EBRO safety seal acts at both shaft ends in two stages. The primary seal is a belleville spring washer that transmits prestress onto the spherical segment area. The secondary seal is a PTFE chevron ring together with an O-ring. The data sheet attributes environmental protection to this arrangement.

300 300 240 540 374 292.5 78 125 / F10 34

Dimensions are in millimetres for the valve with bare shaft end according to EN ISO 5211. The inner diameter Di is the lined bore, so DN 50 and DN 65 both show 60.8 mm, a derived observation worth keeping in mind when comparing flow capacity.

Torque, pressure and temperature limits

DN Breakaway torque MD (Nm)
50 40
65 40
80 70
100 95
125 130
150 170
200 230
250 350
300 480

The torque values are based on dry media measured with air at 20 °C and show the initial breakaway torque, after which the disc disengages from the seat and the torque drops. Dynamic torque is available on request. The pressure and temperature diagram applies to silicone elastomer inserts. EPDM inserts are limited to -10 °C up to +120 °C and fluorocarbon (FPM) inserts to -10 °C up to +180 °C, while vacuum service to 1 mbar absolute is possible from -10 °C up to +160 °C.

Industries and uses

EBRO lists chemically highly corrosive and toxic media, purification plants, the pharmaceutical industry, adhesives and paper, paint manufacture, the food industry, transport of hazardous materials to EN 14432, chlorine production and ore processing. In the Gulf these map to desalination chemicals, water treatment dosing lines and petrochemical utility services, but the actual liner, elastomer insert and temperature should be confirmed with the manufacturer for the medium in question.

Information to send with an RFQ for the EBRO T 211-A PTFE-Lined Wafer Type Butterfly Valve

Valve quotations depend on the service conditions as much as on the size. For the EBRO T 211-A PTFE-Lined Wafer Type Butterfly Valve, list the nominal size, pressure class, end connection or flange standard, and the medium with its temperature and pressure range. State the required body, seat and seal materials if a specification already exists.

  • Quantity and tag numbers, if the valves belong to a project line list.
  • Operation: lever, gearbox, pneumatic or electric actuator, with any accessories such as limit switches or positioners.
  • Test and certificate requirements, for example material certificates or pressure test reports.
  • Required delivery date and site location in Oman or the wider GCC.

Sending the valve data sheet or line specification lets the configuration be checked before ordering and reduces the risk of receiving a valve that does not match the piping class.

Each quotation for the EBRO T 211-A PTFE-Lined Wafer Type Butterfly Valve states the exact manufacturer part number, the documents that will accompany the shipment, the expected lead time from the factory and the delivery terms to your site. If the part number on an existing nameplate is incomplete or worn, send a clear photograph of the label and of the installed unit, and the correct ordering code can be confirmed with the manufacturer before the offer is issued.
