Mapa Professional Ultrane 551 Precision Handling Gloves
Description
A thin seamless glove for fingertip precision
Mapa Ultrane 551 is a 13 gauge seamless knitted glove with a polyurethane coating in grey. Mapa Professional describes it as unbeatable for fingertip precision. The reduced thickness gives dexterity, the seamless knit lining gives comfort, and the cellular structure of the polyurethane absorbs perspiration, so the hand stays drier in long shifts.
It is a Category 2 handling protection glove with EN 388 4131X, OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 and traces of DMF within occupational limits. It is silicone free and is offered in seven sizes from 5 to 11, with a length of 21 to 27 cm.

Where Ultrane 551 is the right level of protection
EN 388 4131X reads abrasion 4, blade cut 1, tear 3 and puncture 1. The abrasion number is strong, while the cut and puncture numbers are low, so the glove is a handling glove and not a cut glove. For sharp parts choose the KryTech range.
Seven sizes help to fit smaller hands in electronics and cosmetics lines. Because the coating is polyurethane, it is best for dry and lightly oily light assembly. Order by size and pack; the 100-pair carton suits assembly lines that use gloves as consumables.
Keeping fingertip feel
Wear the glove close-fitting. Excess material at the fingertips reduces precision. The antistatic values are measured at 25% relative humidity and are given on the sheet; they are not an ESD rating statement.
Change gloves when the coating on the fingertips turns shiny or begins to peel and keep them away from solvents, which can swell polyurethane.
Two electrical resistance figures are printed: 1.3E+11 ohm surface resistance (EN 1149-1) and 6.3E+9 ohm vertical resistance (EN 1149-2), both measured in the palm area at 25% relative humidity. They are test results that describe how the material conducts charge; whether they suit an electronics or explosive-atmosphere area is a decision for the site, and the sheet itself makes no ESD or ATEX claim. Because the liner is seamless on the working surfaces and the coating is thin, it feels like a second skin, which is why it is picked for sorting small parts and assembling displays.
The legislation block on the sheet says the product is not classified hazardous under Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 and contains no substance of very high concern above 0.1% and no annex XVII substance under REACH 1907/2006. The EU type certificate is 0075/014/162/05/23/0896 from notified body 0075 (CTC, Lyon). Sizes use EN ISO 21420 numbering, so size 6 fits a hand of about 152 mm circumference and size 11 a hand of about 279 mm (general standard information); size 5 is a smaller fit outside that table. The long list of uses shows how the glove is applied: fitting small screws, laying panelling and moulding, installing locks, riveting antennae, sorting small parts and assembling displays and LEDs.
Electronics, small parts and fine installation
Mapa lists the automotive industry (fitting small screws and fasteners), carpenters laying wood, panelling and moulding, plumbers maintaining pipes, locksmiths installing locks, high-frequency antenna riveting, microprocessor handling, sorting small parts, electronic component assembly, packaging, and cosmetics and pharmaceutical preparation. Instrument and control cabinet work is a natural fit.
Selection and care notes
This thin glove is meant for fine handling where cut and chemical risks are low. Check the EN 388 code against the task, choose the size that fits closely for dexterity, and wash according to the label. Replace it when the coating thins on the fingertips.
Before ordering, compare the ratings on the data sheet with the project specification, check the connection sizes and the supply conditions, and confirm which accessories, spares and documents travel with the unit. On delivery, inspect the packing, compare the nameplate with the order and keep the manual with the site records so that later commissioning and maintenance work can follow the maker instructions. Ask us if any detail is unclear and we will check it with the supplier before the order is placed.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full product code, the size range, the quantity in pairs, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC and the hazards the item must cover, so that the complete supply can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Standards, performance levels and sizes are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and construction projects.
