Camfil Cam-Flo ES ePM1 70% Bag Filter 592x592x640-6
Description
A 6-bag ePM1 70% filter for standard ventilation systems
The Camfil Cam-Flo ES 0170 592x592x640-6 is a full-size bag filter, 592 mm x 592 mm at the front and 640 mm deep, with six pockets of synthetic fibre media in a galvanised metal frame. Camfil states the application as air filtering in standard ventilation systems, and this variant sits in the ePM1 70% class and is rated at 1,011 kWh per year, energy class A.
The six-bag layout is the one the datasheet describes as optimised for reduced waste and low energy consumption; the ten-bag variants of the same size carry more media (7.5 m2 at 640 mm) and a lower initial pressure drop (55 Pa). In a Gulf AHU the 592x592x640-6 is the usual second-stage filter behind a coarse prefilter, protecting coils and ductwork from fine dust that comes in with desert and coastal air.
What the datasheet lists as advantages
- Galvanised steel frame and robust synthetic fibre media.
- High dust holding capacity.
- Available in ePM10 50%, ePM1 60%, ePM1 70% and ePM1 85%.
- Six-bag variant optimised for reduced waste and low energy use; ten-bag variant optimised for lowest initial pressure drop.
- Front access housings and frames, and side access housings, are available.

Derived working values
From the printed numbers, the media loading is about 667 m3/h per square metre of media at nominal flow (3,400 divided by 5.1, derived). The recommended final pressure drop works out at 165 Pa: initial 65 Pa plus 100 Pa is lower than three times 65 Pa (195 Pa). The sheet caps airflow at 1.25 times nominal, which is about 4,250 m3/h for this size (derived); pressure drop and energy use rise with flow.
If you mix this type with others in a bank, keep the size and depth consistent; the datasheet prints pressure drop per depth and bag count, and a six-bag unit at 640 mm has a different curve from a ten-bag one.
Choosing among the 0170 depths and bag counts
| Type, all 3,400 m3/h | Initial pressure drop | Media area |
|---|---|---|
| 0170 592x592x640-10 | 55 Pa | 7.5 m2 |
| 0170 592x592x640-6 (this page) | 65 Pa | 5.1 m2 |
| 0170 592x592x520-10 | 65 Pa | 6.5 m2 |
| 0170 592x592x520-6 | 80 Pa | 4.1 m2 |
| 0170 592x592x370-10 | 80 Pa | 4.6 m2 |
| 0170 592x592x370-6 | 105 Pa | 2.9 m2 |
The shallow 370 mm six-bag version reaches 105 Pa and energy class E, while the 640 mm six-bag on this page holds class A. If duct space allows, the deeper unit saves energy over a year, and the datasheet quantifies it: 1,011 kWh against more than 2,150 kWh for the 370 mm six-bag.
Installation and operating notes
The sheet gives front dimensions to EN 15805 and lists front-access and side-access housings and frames; it does not print gasket or clip details, so specify the holding frame separately. Replace the filter at the recommended final pressure drop and fit a pressure gauge across the bank. Operating limits are 70 degC and up to 100 percent relative humidity, so the filter can sit downstream of a cooling coil provided no free water is carried over.
Questions to settle on the enquiry
- Exact type string: 0170 592x592x640-6 (class, size and bag count together).
- Holding frame or housing type: front access or side access.
- Whether a six-bag unit is acceptable, or the 640 mm ten-bag (0170 592x592x640-10) is wanted for lower pressure.
- Quantity per bank and the final pressure drop alarm setting (165 Pa derived).
Operating conditions in Gulf buildings
Dust is the main particulate burden in Oman and neighbouring countries, with sand and construction fines in the coarse range and traffic and industrial emissions in the fine range. An ePM1 70% bag filter targets the fine fraction, and the printed ePM2.5 value of 78% and ePM10 value of 92% give a feel for the efficiency across sizes. These values apply to the clean filter; the sheet also lists the minimum (conditioned) values, which are the safer design basis.
High outdoor humidity is common on the coast, and the datasheet allows up to 100 percent relative humidity at up to 70 degC, which covers most AHU conditions, but standing water or carry-over from cooling coils should be prevented with droplet eliminators.
Where it is used
Commercial buildings, malls and airports in the Gulf commonly use ePM1 bag filters as the main particulate stage in AHUs (general practice, not a datasheet statement); the printed ePM1 min value of 55% shows the lowest efficiency after conditioning. Combine with ePM10 prefilters and, for sensitive rooms, a HEPA stage. Browse other filtration elements.
Fitting and replacement notes
Check the housing frame and the 592 mm face size before ordering, fit the bags hanging vertically and make sure the header frame seals against the gasket or rails so that air cannot bypass the media. Replace the filter at the final pressure drop set in the specification or when the differential pressure gauge shows it, and replace the prefilter more often to extend the life of this second stage.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full filter code, the quantity, the housing or frame type it must fit, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC and any prefilters or accessories, so that the complete filter set can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification before a purchase is confirmed. Filter class, airflow, pressure drop and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
