Brand:

Soler & Palau TH-1300 3V Roof Mounted Mixed Flow Fan

Description

A roof-mounted extract fan with bird guard and weatherproof finish

The Soler & Palau TH-1300 3V sits on the roof and extracts air straight up through its spun or pressed cowl. The datasheet describes the series as roof mounted mixed flow fans supplied as standard for extract operation, made from high-strength injection moulded plastic with steel bases and a black epoxy-polyester weatherproof coating on all metal parts.

Every model has a bird guard and a base cable-gland entry as standard, so the fan arrives ready for a roof curb. It is typically used on toilet-block extract risers, kitchens with a separate hood fan, stair and lift-lobby ventilation, and light-industrial roof extract where a few hundred to around a thousand cubic metres per hour are needed.

Datasheet features

  • Motor: IP44, class F, thermal protection, ball bearings greased for life; single phase 230 V, 50 Hz with capacitor in the wiring terminal box.
  • Three speed connections; suitable for voltage speed control with electronic or auto-transformer controllers.
  • Flame retardant V0 plastic terminal box, easily accessible.
  • Circular spigot coupling for rigid or flexible circular ducting.
  • Motor and impeller casing removable by two fixing clamps and can be turned through 180 degrees to give supply-air operation.

Note on figures: the datasheet describes the sound pressure values as measured at 3 m in free field at a medium working point of the curve, and the table prints values for inlet and outlet sides separately.

What the datasheet does not give for this code

The dimension table and the mounting-accessory table in the S&P catalogue list TH-500/150, TH-500/160, TH-800 N and TH-800 only. For the TH-1300 the catalogue prints performance, weight and electrical values but no base or spigot dimensions, so ask for the dimensional drawing before sizing a curb or sealing frame. Do not assume the JMS-300 or JBS-300 frames from the smaller sizes fit.

Installation notes

Check data plate values against the supply before connecting. A single-phase fan with a capacitor in the terminal box needs the wiring diagram numbers 55 and 56 printed against this model. Roof curb, flat-roof upstand and backdraft shutter accessories exist in the range, but confirm their compatibility with the 1300 body.

Controls and what to specify

The catalogue lists the COM-3 three-speed switch and INTER 4P switch with the RMB-1,5 auto-transformer controller and the REB-1 electronic single-phase controller against the TH-1300. The fan has three speed connections and is suitable for voltage speed control, so one of these controllers can be mounted indoors near the circuit supplying the roof unit.

State the code TH-1300 3V, the 230 V 50 Hz supply, whether you need the roof curb or sealing frame (and for which roof type), and whether the fan will be used as extract or turned for supply. The roof fan range also has backdraft shutters, flexible aluminium and acoustic ducting, and a sound attenuator listed for smaller models.

Roof and weather considerations in the Gulf

The black epoxy-polyester finish and bird guard suit exposed roof conditions, and the -40 to +60 degC range covers high ambient. The catalogue gives no salt-spray, dust or IP rating for the casing beyond the motor IP44, so for coastal or very dusty sites confirm suitability with the manufacturer before ordering. See the wider HVAC and combustion equipment category.

Installation and selection notes

Mount the TH-1300 on a roof curb or support frame that is level and weather-sealed, and connect a duct or opening beneath it that matches the fan base. Run the supply cable to the base cable-gland entry and fit an isolator close to the fan. Check the fan curve against the riser resistance, and keep the bird guard in place, since it also protects maintenance staff from the impeller.

Information needed for a quotation

Send the full model code, the quantity, the supply voltage and phase, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC and any accessories such as controllers, silencers, dampers or flexible connectors, so that the complete package can be quoted together.

Documents and supply information

The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification before a purchase is confirmed. Airflow, pressure, sound and motor values are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.

About brand

Soler & Palau is a Spanish ventilation manufacturer, founded in February 1951 in Ripoll, Catalonia, by Eduardo Soler and José Palau in a small workshop of about 230 m². Ripoll is still its production centre, with an aluminium foundry and motor and fan lines, while Parets del Vallès, near Barcelona, has been the group's logistics and operations hub since the 1980s. The S&P group has production, logistics and sales companies in 33 countries.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Soler & Palau fans against exact model codes for HVAC contractors and facility teams in Oman and the GCC.
