JUMO MarineTemp Screw-In RTD Probe, Bureau Veritas Approved

Description

Marine-approved screw-in Pt100 probe for engine rooms and HVAC

The JUMO MarineTemp (type 902850) is a screw-in RTD temperature probe for liquids and gases, with Bureau Veritas maritime type approval. It is a compact probe with a G or M thread, a permanently installed Pt100 or Pt1000 element and a terminal head form B or BUZ, designed for shipboard air-conditioning and refrigeration, HVAC and apparatus engineering.

Two basic types are listed: 902850/10 with a continuous protection pocket and 902850/11 with a stepped pocket (6 mm to 3.5 mm or 8 mm to 6 mm). The operating range is -50 to +400 C, a transmitter can be built into the head, and the screw-in seal copes with vacuum and overpressure alike.

Specifying the probe

The sample code is 902850/10-380-1003-1-6-100/104/000: basic type, operating range, measuring insert (1003 for one Pt100 in 2-wire, 1011 for 4-wire), tolerance class, sheath diameter, fitting length in plain text in mm and the process connection. Extra codes are 320 for the BUZ head, 550 for an integrated transmitter and 999 for another Bureau Veritas approved transmitter.

Each data sheet field has several alternatives, so the practical route is to state the media, the immersion depth required and the thread of the existing boss, and ask for the matching code.

Where it fits on board and ashore

The data sheet names air conditioning and refrigeration engineering and HVAC as application areas, and the Bureau Veritas approval allows use on ships classed under that society. In shore plants the same probe works well in coolers, compressors and small process lines where a 6 mm sheath and a 50 to 200 mm immersion depth are enough.

Choose a thermowell from data sheet 909710 when the fluid is pressurised and the probe must be removable. Where the head ambient exceeds 100 C or the transmitter is fitted, reduced ambient limits apply to the transmitter, so check data sheet 707050.

Documents and quotation

Use the request form to ask for this model with your exact code. The attached JUMO MarineTemp data sheet 902850 (EN, V2.00, 2025-11-11) lists all variants and options, and the sheath diameter, immersion length and thread should be confirmed before the order is released. About brand

Temperature measurement is the origin of JUMO, founded in 1948 in Fulda, Germany, as a maker of glass thermometers. Today the catalog covers sensors and transmitters for temperature, pressure, level and liquid analysis, plus controllers and recorders. Seven Star LLC lists JUMO RTD probes, pressure and differential pressure transmitters, pH, conductivity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen instruments, and sources them for plants in Oman.

JUMO product families listed

JUMO uses family names that recur across the catalog:

  • dTRANS: transmitters, including dTRANS T01 and T100 for temperature, dTRANS p02 DELTA for differential pressure, and dTRANS pH 02 and CR 02 for liquid analysis
  • Wtrans: wireless probes and transmitters, such as Wtrans T for RTD temperature and Wtrans p for pressure
  • digiLine and ecoLine: digital and optical analysis sensors, for example the digiLine O-DO S10 dissolved oxygen sensor and the ecoLine NTU turbidity sensor
  • NESOS: float-based level transmitters and switches
  • RTD temperature probes: screw-in types such as 902030 and mineral-insulated designs

Where JUMO sensors are used

JUMO sensors and transmitters are typical of food and beverage lines, water and wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical utilities, heating and cooling systems, and packaged machinery supplied to the GCC by European builders. Many requests are for a like-for-like replacement of a probe fitted by the machine maker, where length, thread and connector have to match exactly.

Ordering JUMO parts: what we need

JUMO identifies each product group by a six-digit type number, such as 902030, followed by an order code that fixes the options. The label of the delivered item normally carries a part number as well. Send whichever you have, ideally both, or a photo of the label. For JUMO temperature probes add insertion length, diameter, process connection, sensor type and wiring. For JUMO pressure sensors state range, output, process connection and electrical connector. For analysis sensors name the transmitter they connect to and the cable length.

Frequently Asked Questions
