Lenze E82EV402K4C 8200 vector Frequency Inverter 4.0 kW 400 V
Description
Lenze 8200 vector at 4.0 kW, 400 V
If a 4.0 kW (5.4 hp) induction motor has to run from a 3/PE 400 V supply, the Lenze E82EV402K4C is the 8200 vector frequency inverter that the catalogue assigns to that rating. The base controller holds the power stage; function modules and a keypad are added to it. Note that the 8200 vector sits under previous products on the Lenze website. Ratings come from the 11/02 Lenze catalogue, an older edition, and should be verified with the supplier before an order is placed.

Reading the type code E82EV402K4C
Breaking the code down: E82EV means 8200 vector base controller; 402 stands for the 4.0 kW rating; K4C is the 400 V supply class. The stem alone does not say whether an EMC filter is built in: suffix 0xx does, 2xx does not, and the catalogue prints both.
Choosing and installing this size
Most installations combine it with function module E82ZAFSC010 as the I/O interface and may add the EMZ9371BC keypad. Always compare the motor’s rated current with 9.5 A, because kW alone can mislead. Raising the chopper frequency to 16 kHz limits the current to 6.1 A. A mains choke is optional and lowers the mains current to 8.8 A. Above +40 degrees C reduce the rated current by 2.5% per degree, and above 1000 m altitude by 5% per 1000 m. Install it in vertical position and leave a 100 mm gap above and below the housing.
The catalogue’s control data apply to every size. The controller offers V/f characteristic control, linear or quadratic, as well as vector control with torque provision. Maximum torque is 1.8 times the rated motor torque for 60 s when the motor rating equals the drive rating. In sensorless speed control the setting range is 1:50 related to 50 Hz and rated torque, with an accuracy of plus or minus 0.5 percent and a minimum output frequency of 1.0 Hz. Digital setpoints are accurate to plus or minus 0.005 Hz, and the analog inputs use a 10-bit converter. At 4.0 kW these figures combine with the 9.5 A rating above.
Where it sits in the range
Neighbours in the 400 V class are given by the type tables: the next size down is 3.0 kW (E82EV302K4C) and the next size up is 5.5 kW (E82EV552K4C).
Documentation and quotation
Ratings, mounting drawings and accessories are in the attached Lenze catalogue, edition 11/02, which should be checked against the nameplate. More inverters are shown in AC Drives. Quote requests need the whole part number with suffix, the voltage and motor nameplate details; availability should be confirmed before ordering.

About brand
Lenze is the German drive and automation company for machine building: frequency inverters, servo inverters, motors and gearboxes, controllers and engineering software. Its history begins on 5 November 1947, when Hans Lenze took over Stahlkontor GmbH in Hameln from the Mannesmann group. The group is led by Lenze SE, an unlisted European company based in Aerzen near Hameln, and the Lenze family owns all of its shares.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Lenze frequency and servo inverters, including current and earlier generations, for machine builders and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC.

Milestones
- 1947: Hans Lenze takes over Stahlkontor GmbH in Hameln on 5 November.
- 1977: The first Lenze frequency inverter for three-phase AC motors is launched.
- 1999: Lenze acquires AC Tech in the USA.
- 2009: Lenze AG becomes Lenze SE.
Lenze product series
Current inverters on this site are the i500 family: the i510 compact frequency inverter, the i550 cabinet inverter and its i550 protec decentral version for mounting on the machine, and the i950 cabinet servo inverter. Earlier generations that are still widely installed are also listed: the 8400 StateLine C inverters (E84AVSC...), the 8200 vector frequency inverters (E82EV...) and the 9300 servo position controllers and servo inverters (EVS93...), including versions with Safe Torque Off.
Where Lenze drives are used
Conveyors and intralogistics, packaging and bottling lines, pumps and fans, hoists, textile and printing machines, and positioning axes on special machines. Many plants in the region keep 8200 vector and 9300 drives in service and need exact replacements or a planned migration to the i500 series.

Ordering Lenze inverters: what we need
Send the complete type code from the nameplate, for example E84AVSCE5524SX0, together with the supply voltage, motor power and current, the control interface or fieldbus module, and any options such as safety functions, keypad or brake resistor. When replacing an installed drive, keep the parameter set and wiring records, because a new unit or a successor model must be parameterised to match the machine.
