Veeder-Root TLS4 Automatic Tank Gauge Console

Description

Compact expandable tank gauge for small retail, commercial and industrial sites

The Veeder-Root TLS4 automatic tank gauge is a compact, powerful and expandable console. Veeder-Root positions it for small retail, commercial and industrial applications, combining precision performance, customisation and ease of use. With two-wire devices only it provides 12 universal sensor or probe inputs.

It has a 7 inch colour WVGA touch screen (or can be ordered without a display), SD-card data storage and user-specific log-in with defined roles, and the application software is web-enabled with custom alarms, on-console help, extended storage and static in-tank leak detection for underground tanks. Compared with the TLS-450PLUS it has no integral printer; an external printer is an option.

How it differs from the larger and smaller consoles

The system compatibility guide marks which features are standard or optional. On the TLS4, inventory reports, 0.1 and 0.2 GPH tank tightness testing, continuous statistical leak detection (option) and sump, dispenser-pan, tank-annulus, vapour-well and groundwater monitoring are supported, while integral line leak detection and the integral roll printer are not. Multiple-line manifold tank support requires a TLS-XB expansion box. Alarms include leak, overfill, high level, sudden loss, high water and low inventory with programmable limits.

For hazardous-area or international projects the ATEX console numbers (0860160-x20 and x10) are listed, with EDIM, CDIM or IFSF communications options.

Selection points

  • Twelve inputs may be enough for a small site; the compact TLS4B has six and cannot be expanded.
  • Choose a display version for on-site use, or the no-display version if the console is accessed through the web interface.
  • Confirm optional software at order time: BIR, AccuChart and sudden-loss detection are not in the base package.
  • Adding software to an existing console ships as a feature kit with an iButton (0333530-002).

How the Veeder-Root TLS4 works

Probes in the tanks and sensors in the sumps send signals to the console. The console reads the fuel level, the water level and the temperature. It works out the volume in each tank and shows it on the screen. If a sensor or a probe reports an alarm, the console shows it and can switch a relay.

Where the TLS4 is used

  • Small retail fuel sites
  • Commercial fuel depots
  • Industrial fuel tanks
  • Generator and fleet tanks
  • Sites that need tank alarms and logs

Selection checklist for the TLS4

Installation, commissioning and maintenance notes for the TLS4

Mount the console indoors or in a NEMA 4 location. Connect the power and the probe and sensor wiring. Set up each tank in the console and enter the tank sizes. Test the alarms and the relay outputs. Back up the settings to the SD card.

About brand

Veeder-Root is a fuel management specialist based in Simsbury, Connecticut, USA, founded in 1866 and part of Vontier. It is best known for TLS automatic tank gauges, magnetostrictive in-tank probes and leak detection sensors for fuel storage.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Veeder-Root consoles, probes and sensors from the maker's published datasheets for fuel stations, depots and airports in Oman and the GCC.

Veeder-Root product series

Tank gauge consoles include the TLS4 and the non-expandable TLS4B, the TLS-450PLUS and the legacy TLS-350PLUS. Mag Plus in-tank probes are offered for gasoline and diesel, jet fuel, LPG and light and heavy oil, and Mag-FLEX probes cover tall tanks. Leak detection sensors include the discriminating containment sump sensor 0794380-352 and the interstitial sensor 0794390-420 for double-wall steel tanks. The EMR4 electronic meter register is used on fuel delivery trucks.

Where Veeder-Root products are used

Petrol stations, fuel depots, airports and fleet fuelling sites, where the system measures product level, water and temperature in underground and aboveground tanks, monitors sumps and interstitial spaces and supports inventory reconciliation and leak tests.
