500 bar of cold water for coating removal and heavy deposits
The Kärcher HD 9/50-4 Cage is an ultra-high pressure cold water cleaner with a working pressure of 150 to a maximum of 500 bar. A crankshaft pump delivers 500 to 900 litres per hour, and the 15 kW four-pole air-cooled electric motor, pump and controls are enclosed in a tubular cage frame that protects the machine and allows safe crane loading.
Pressures in this range go beyond washing. They are used for removing old coatings and rust scale from steel, cleaning heat exchanger bundles and tanks, stripping concrete and cleaning pipes and process equipment where deposits are hard-baked. The cage frame, hand truck principle and protected accessory compartment are built for rough industrial handling.

Equipment, supply and pipe-cleaning accessories
The delivery includes an industrial trigger gun, a 700 mm stainless steel spray lance, a flat jet nozzle and a 10 m heavy duty high-pressure hose. Equipment printed by Kärcher adds a safety valve and an elapsed-time counter, and dry-run protection is offered as an option. Accessories are stored in a protected compartment, and the machine moves on the hand truck principle.
At these pressures every connected component must be rated for 500 bar or more. Kärcher lists 640 bar and 620 bar hoses with M22 x 1.5 connections in lengths from 3 to 30 m, a 650 bar industry gun, 65 MPa lances and pipe cleaning hoses and nozzles. Selected items are shown below.

500 bar or 350 bar: choosing the cage model
The HD 9/50-4 Cage is for jobs where pressure does the work. If more water volume is needed with a lower pressure ceiling, the HD 13/35-4 Cage on the same frame delivers up to 1300 l/h at up to 350 bar. The table compares the two caged models.

Kärcher is a German, family-owned manufacturer of cleaning equipment, founded in 1935 by Alfred Kärcher in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt and based in Winnenden since 1939.
