GYS NEOPULSE 500 G Pulsed MIG/MAG Welding Power Source

Description

500 A pulsed MIG/MAG power source with separate wire feeder

The GYS NEOPULSE 500 G (ref. 014503) is a digital pulsed MIG/MAG welding power source made in France for heavy industrial fabrication. It is the 500 A model of the NEOPULSE range and works with the separate NEOFEED-4W wire feeder, sold as an option. The G suffix denotes the gas-cooled base configuration; a cooling unit and trolley can be added. GYS supplies the power source without accessories.

Besides MIG/MAG it welds MMA DC and pulsed MMA with basic, rutile and cellulosic electrodes up to 6 mm, TIG DC with lift start and pulse, and carbon arc gouging with electrodes up to 8 mm. More than 100 synergic curves are stored; in synergic mode the welder selects material, gas and wire diameter and then trims wire speed, voltage, current or arc length.

Welding modes, traceability and controls

Six MIG-MAG modes are available: Standard Dynamic, Standard Impact, Standard Root, Pulsed, Modularc and Manual, with SPOT and DELAY tack modes and 2T/4T trigger logic. The weld cycle can be shaped with creep speed, soft start, hot start, upslope, downslope, crater filler and post-gas settings. Up to 500 programs can be stored and moved by USB key, which is also used for firmware and synergy updates.

For quality documentation the machine calibrates welding accessories to correct the displayed voltage, calculates heat input according to EN 1011-1, ISO/TR 18491 and QW-409, and records each weld for traceability in line with EN ISO 3834. Current and voltage are shown during and after welding to support WPS and PQR work.

Fit for heavy shop and site work

Four microprocessors, a 100 W wire feed motor with four driven rolls and a high arc voltage for easier ignition are aimed at long arc-on times with 1.2 to 1.6 mm wires. The reinforced metal case has four lifting brackets, and the separate feeder lets the welder work up to 20 m from the source. The SAM interface allows connection to a robot or automated station. The lower-rated GYS NEOPULSE 400 G shares the same platform.

Documents and quotation

The attached GYS datasheet for ref. 014503 contains the full technical data of the power source and the NEOFEED-4W feeder. For a quotation, specify whether the feeder, cooling unit, trolley and interconnection cable length are required, plus torch and wire types. Further machines are listed under MIG/MAG welding machines.

How the GYS NEOPULSE 500 G works

The GYS NEOPULSE 500 G is an inverter MIG/MAG welding power source with pulse capability. The inverter converts mains power into a precisely controlled welding current, while synergic and pulsed modes help set wire feed and voltage together for consistent results on steel, stainless steel and aluminium.

Key points of the GYS NEOPULSE 500 G

  • Refer to the specification table above for current range, duty cycle and supply data.
  • Inverter design for stable arc and efficient power use.
  • Industrial construction suited to workshop and site use.

Selection & Ordering Guide

Choosing the right GYS NEOPULSE 500 G configuration

Confirm the mains supply, the welding processes you need, the torch and cable lengths, and any feeder, cooling unit or trolley options before ordering. Match the duty cycle to your typical arc-on time.

Our team can help confirm the correct ordering code and accessories against the manufacturer documentation before you place an order, so the delivered item matches your application.

Installation & Maintenance

Connect to a correctly rated and earthed supply, keep cooling vents clear of dust, and inspect torches, liners, contact tips and cables regularly. Use the shielding gas and consumables suited to the material and process.

Always follow the manufacturer instructions supplied with the product, use qualified personnel for installation and electrical work, and keep records of inspections and replacements so that maintenance can be planned rather than reactive.

Typical Applications in Oman & the GCC

In Oman and the GCC, the NEOPULSE 500 G suits heavy fabrication, structural steel, tanks, pressure vessels and pipe spool shops where high-current MIG/MAG and pulsed welding is needed over long shifts.

Practical Notes for Fabrication Shops

To get consistent quality from a pulsed MIG/MAG machine, match the wire type and diameter, the shielding gas and the synergic program to the material being welded. Keep wire feed paths clean, use the correct liner and drive rolls for the wire, and replace contact tips before they wear and cause unstable arc starts. Pulsed modes help control heat input on stainless steel and aluminium and reduce spatter on steel, which saves cleaning time after welding. Saving proven settings as jobs makes it easier for different welders to repeat the same results, and supports compliance with welding procedure specifications.

In hot and dusty environments, give the power source good ventilation and keep it away from grinding operations. Blow out dust at regular intervals, check cables and connectors for damage, and keep spare consumables on hand so production does not stop for small parts. Please consult GYS documentation for the full technical data of this model before ordering.

About brand

GYS is a French manufacturer of welding, cutting and battery charging equipment, founded in 1964 and based in Saint-Berthevin.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list GYS welding machines and plasma cutters for workshops and contractors in Oman and the GCC.

GYS product series

MIG/MAG machines include the NEOPULSE 320 C pulsed machine and the NEOPULSE 400 G and 500 G pulsed power sources. TIG machines include the TITANIUM 400 AC/DC and the TITAN 400 DC TIG/MMA machine.

The EXAGON 400 FLEX is a CC/CV multi-process machine, and the NEOCUT 105 and NEOCUT 125 are industrial plasma cutters.

Pulsed MIG power sources reduce spatter and allow better control on thin sheet, stainless steel and aluminium, while CC/CV machines like the EXAGON 400 FLEX run stick, TIG, MIG and gouging from one unit. Plasma cutter choice depends on plate thickness and duty cycle: the NEOCUT 105 and 125 handle industrial cutting and gouging with compressed air.

Where GYS equipment is used

Steel and stainless fabrication, aluminium welding, maintenance shops, site work and plate cutting.
