Micro Motion meter families

ELITE is the manufacturer’s top performance family for flow and density, and the CMF400 is one of its larger line sizes. The G-Series is a newer, very compact family for general duty. Each sensor is paired with a Coriolis transmitter, and the range also includes density and viscosity meters. Liquids, gases and slurries can all be measured, which is why these meters appear in oil and gas, refining, chemical, food and marine service.

Ordering Micro Motion meters: what we need

A Micro Motion sensor and its transmitter each have their own model code and serial number; send both. For a new meter we need the fluid, flow range, density, viscosity, operating pressure and temperature, line size, process connection and rating, wetted material, hazardous area approval, outputs and protocol. Custody transfer duty in the GCC should be stated up front because it changes the approvals and calibration options requested.

Where do I find the model code on a Micro Motion meter?
There are two tags. The sensor tag on the meter body carries the sensor model, beginning with the family and size such as CMF400, and its serial number. The transmitter has a separate tag with its own model string. Send photos of both, because the transmitter and the sensor are matched and ordered separately.
How do I choose between Micro Motion ELITE and G-Series?
ELITE is the manufacturer's highest performance family and is the usual choice where measurement uncertainty drives the decision, including fiscal duty. The G-Series is ultracompact and aimed at general process measurement where space and simplicity count. Send us the process data and the accuracy you need and we will request the manufacturer's sizing for both.
What information is needed to size a Micro Motion Coriolis meter?
Fluid name and state, minimum, normal and maximum flow, operating density and viscosity, pressure, temperature, allowable pressure drop, line size and connection rating. For gas, give composition or molecular weight. With this the manufacturer's sizing shows the expected accuracy and pressure drop for each candidate size.
