Description
The Riello UPS Sentinel Pro2 SP2 3000 is the 3 kVA model of a compact ON LINE double-conversion tower UPS for servers, network cabinets, voice and data equipment and small control rooms. The load is always fed by the inverter, so mains sags, surges and short interruptions do not reach the equipment. Riello UPS lists the range from 700 to 3000 VA with an output power factor of 1, so a 3000 VA unit delivers 3000 W.
Why an online tower UPS suits single-phase IT and control loads
Double conversion gives a filtered, stabilised sine wave output that is independent of the mains quality. The datasheet classifies the range as VFI under IEC 62040-3 and gives an input window of 140 to 276 V at 50 percent load, or 184 to 276 V at full load, before the batteries are used. A wide window reduces battery cycling where the supply is weak.
Sentinel Pro2 also offers an emergency function with progressive soft start of the inverter, an ECO and SMART ACTIVE mode with 98 percent stated efficiency, optional frequency-converter operation and EnergyShare sockets that can switch off non-critical loads under configurable conditions. The datasheet states a noise level below 40 dBA at 1 m in ECO mode.

Choosing between standard and ER models
Standard models carry internal VRLA batteries and a recharge time of 2 to 4 hours. ER versions ship without internal batteries and with a more powerful charger, intended for long autonomy with external battery cabinets; Riello UPS offers matching BTC cabinets in 36 V and 72 V versions. Before ordering, confirm the connected load in watts, the autonomy target in minutes, the room temperature (the datasheet recommends 20 to 25 degrees C for battery life) and whether a manual bypass or a network card is needed.
