Brand:

DAB KLP 50-1200 T In-Line Circulating Pump DN50 0.72 kW

Description

KLP 50-1200 T is the three-phase, two-pole in-line pump of the DAB KLM/KLP range with DN 50 flanges, a 280 mm port-to-port distance, 0.72 kW motor power, a liquid range of -15 to +120°C and a maximum operating pressure of 10 bar.

An in-line pump for air-conditioning and hot-water loops

DAB lists the KLM, KLP, DKLM and DKLP in-line pumps for conditioning, heating, water recirculation with solar thermal panels and the circulation of drinkable hot water in residential and commercial buildings. All are ACS certified according to the sheet. The pump body sits in the pipe, with suction and delivery flanges in line, so no base or separate coupling is needed.

In the code, KLP indicates the two-pole 2920 rpm series (KLM is four-pole at 1450 rpm), 50 is the DN flange size and 1200 the model size (derived from the model list), and T is three-phase. The KLP 50-1200 T has a three-phase IE3 motor at 2842 rpm, P2 of 0.72 kW and a current of 3.72 A at 230 V or 2.15 A at 400 V. The selection table starts at 12.2 m of head at zero flow and falls to 3.8 m at its last tabulated point.

Design points from the datasheet

  • Flanged suction and delivery ports (PN 10) with threaded holes for pressure gauges; compatible with PN 16 counter-flanges for replacing pumps in existing systems.
  • Pump body and motor support in cast iron 250 UNI ISO 185; technopolymer B impeller; AISI 316 shaft.
  • Silicon carbide/silicon carbide mechanical seal with EPDM O-ring.
  • Air-cooled two-pole asynchronous motor on ball bearings, IPX5, insulation class F.
  • Up to 50 percent glycol in the pumped liquid.
  • Twin versions (D prefix) have a swing valve in the delivery port; the KLP 50-1200 T is the single-pump version.

KLP, KLM and the twin option

The sheet lists KLM and KLP sizes for DN 40, 50, 65 and 80 with model numbers from 300 to 2000; the smaller sizes come in single-phase (M) and three-phase (T) versions. Within DN 50, the KLP 50-900, 50-1200, 50-1600 and 50-2000 step up in head; the 50-1200 is the second step. If you need standby in the same pipe run, the DKLP 50-1200 twin is listed separately. The KLP 50-1200 M is the single-phase counterpart of this code, with 0.75 kW, 4.3 A and a 20 µF capacitor.

Installation notes

Mount the pump in line with the motor up, horizontal or vertical, and fit it between PN 6, 10 or 16 flanges as printed. Keep the motor room below 40°C. The sheet states the user is responsible for protection of three-phase motors, so provide a thermal overload relay or motor protection circuit breaker. Because the motor is air-cooled and IPX5, keep the fan inlet clear.

Cooling and heating plant in the Gulf

Chilled-water and hot-water circulation in air-handling and fan-coil loops, domestic hot water recirculation in hotels and apartment blocks, and small solar water-heating circuits are all named uses. In chilled-water duty, check that the 50 percent glycol limit and -15°C minimum suit your brine, and confirm the 10 bar limit against the pressure of the highest building zone.

A pump is selected from the duty point: the flow and the head the system needs, with the curve on the data sheet checked at that point. Confirm the liquid, its temperature and any solids, the electrical supply and the connection sizes, fit isolating valves and a non-return valve where the system needs them, protect the motor with a suitable overload device and prime the pump before running it. Do not run it dry or against a closed discharge.
