Elga is a Swedish brand of welding consumables, started in 1938 in Gothenburg when engineer Carl Alfredson founded AB El & Gassvetsning. Elga produced its first coated electrodes in the 1940s and introduced the Cromarod range of stainless steel electrodes in the 1980s. Since 2000 the brand has been part of Illinois Tool Works (ITW), and it is made by ITW Welding AB in Partille, Sweden.
