Buyers looking for a valves supplier in Muscat will find ten sub-categories here, arranged by function so that an engineer can go straight to the right type.

Valve sub-categories and what each one is for

Control Valves holds globe, rotary and butterfly valves that throttle flow under a control signal, with seal and packing kits for valves already in operation, and a sub-group of pressure independent control valves for chilled water circuits. Valve Actuators covers the electric, pneumatic and hydraulic drives that move those valves, and Valve Positioners the instruments that hold the valve at the position the control system asks for. Safety Relief Valves contains the valves that protect vessels and piping from overpressure.

Regulators are self-operated devices that reduce or hold a pressure without external power, including instrument air filter regulators and volume boosters. Solenoid Valves are electrically switched valves for pilot air, gas trains, refrigerant and general fluid duties. Globe Valves lists bellows sealed stop valves for steam and process isolation. Clean Steam groups stainless steel traps, separators, filters and valves for sterile and hygienic steam. Hydraulic Valves & Components covers directional valves for oil hydraulic power units, and Pipes & Fittings holds tube fittings, pipe couplings and conduit fittings for hazardous areas.

Standards and documents that usually apply to industrial valves

Valves are specified against the piping class of the plant: ASME pressure classes or EN PN ratings, a flange or end connection standard, and body and trim materials suited to the fluid. Sour gas duty calls for materials that comply with NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156. Actuators, positioners and solenoid coils need ATEX or IECEx certification when they sit in a classified area. For pressure-containing parts, buyers normally ask for EN 10204 material certificates and a pressure test report.

What to send for a valve quotation

The simplest route is the tag number with its datasheet, or the model and serial number from the nameplate. Without those, send the valve type, size, pressure rating, end connections, body and trim materials, and the fluid with its pressure and temperature. For actuated valves add the air supply or voltage and the fail position. We check the configuration against the manufacturer documentation for buyers across the GCC.

What to include in your inquiry

These details let us quote the right item the first time.

  • Valve type and size (DN / NPS)
  • Pressure class and end connection
  • Body and trim material
  • Fluid, flow rate, inlet and outlet pressure, temperature
  • Actuator type and fail position
  • Accessories: positioner, limit switches, solenoid

Missing some of them? Send what you have. A nameplate photo or an old part number is enough to start.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between an isolation valve and a control valve?
An isolation valve is meant to be fully open or fully closed and is chosen for tight shut-off and low pressure drop. A control valve works at intermediate positions all day, so its trim is shaped to give a defined flow characteristic and to resist erosion, and it comes with an actuator and usually a positioner. Using an isolation valve to throttle shortens its seat life.
Do I need a safety relief valve or a pressure regulator?
They do different jobs. A regulator controls pressure continuously during normal operation, either downstream (reducing) or upstream (back pressure). A safety relief valve stays closed in normal operation and opens only when pressure exceeds its set point, to protect equipment. A regulator is not a safety device, so a system with a reducing regulator usually still needs a safety valve downstream.
Can you supply spare parts for control valves and actuators that are already in operation?
Yes. Seal kits, packing sets, diaphragms, trim parts and positioner components are listed for several Masoneilan series, and parts for other makes can be requested. The valve serial number is the most reliable reference, because the manufacturer's records show the exact trim, materials and options built into that valve. Without it, send the model, size, rating and trim details.
Are fire-fighting landing valves and plumbing valves listed in this section?
This section is focused on process and utility valves for industrial plants: control valves, safety valves, steam valves, regulators, solenoid valves and their actuators. Fire hydrant landing valves and domestic plumbing valves are not part of the current listing. If you need a specific make and model for an industrial project, send the specification and we will tell you plainly if we can source it.
Which certificates should I request when ordering valves?
Ask for what your project specification requires at the time of inquiry. Common items are EN 10204 material certificates for body and bonnet, hydrostatic and seat leakage test reports, NACE compliance statements for sour gas duty, and ATEX or IECEx certificates for electrical accessories. We pass on the manufacturer's datasheet and the certificates the manufacturer issues; some cannot be produced after the valve has been built.
What do pressure class and PN rating mean on a valve?
Both describe the pressure a valve body can hold at a given temperature. ASME classes such as 150, 300 and 600 are used with ASME flanges, and PN ratings such as PN 16 and PN 40 with EN flanges. The allowable pressure falls as temperature rises and depends on body material, so always check the rating against the design temperature, not only the nominal figure.
Do you supply industrial valves and fittings in Oman and the other GCC countries?
Yes. Seven Star LLC is based in Muscat and quotes industrial valves and fittings for buyers in Oman, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain. Buyers in other countries can also send a request. For a quotation, send the valve type, size, pressure class, material and tag or part number through the inquiry form.
Which valves and fittings brands can Seven Star quote?
This category currently lists items from Masoneilan, AUMA, Fisher, LESER, Spirax Sarco, Swagelok, Flowserve and ABB. Other manufacturers can be quoted on request: send the brand and the model or part number, and we will confirm whether we can source it.
