Brand:

Raytec SPX-SL96-4K-PP1 SPARTAN Street Zone 1/21 LED Luminaire

Description

SPX-SL96-4K-PP1 is the SPARTAN Street SL96 Zone 1/21 LED street luminaire at 4000 K with the PP1 perimeter and pathway optic: 96 LEDs, 53 W, about 6,219 lm and a pre-terminated 12 m cable.

Roadway and perimeter lighting for classified outdoor areas

SPARTAN Street brings a pole-mounted luminaire to Zone 1 gas and Zone 21 dust areas, such as access roads and perimeter paths inside plants. Raytec quotes a high efficacy of 128 lm/W, a weight of only 6.5 kg and a supplied 12 m, 3 core, cold-resistant outdoor PVC cable for quick installation.

The part code builder reads SPX (family), SL96 (model), 4K (4000 K), PP1 (optic) and leaves power, input and spigot unstated, so this code is the standard 53 W, 110 to 254 V, 76 mm pole version. An adjustable bracket can be rotated 90 degrees so the luminaire can be fixed to a column, bracket or pole in post-top or side-arm form.

Key features as printed in the datasheet

  • Beam patterns PP1, PP2, PP3 (perimeter and pathway) and AR1 (area); lumen output 6,219 lm for PP1 on the standard version.
  • Three power levels: standard 53 W, RP 35 W and LO 20 W.
  • Integrated spigot mount for 76 mm poles, or 60 mm pole variants with grub screw fixings.
  • Bespoke LED housing designed around the LEDs for performance and reliability, as Raytec states.

Choosing optic, power and pole size

PP1, PP2 and PP3 are perimeter and pathway distributions, while AR1 lights a wider area; the light distribution diagrams in the datasheet show each pattern. The standard 53 W is the brightest; RP (35 W) and LO (20 W) cut power and output for lighter duty, and the lumen tables above show the trade-off.

The part code builder also offers 277 for a 110 to 277 V AC/DC supply and 60 mm for a 60 mm pole. Other colour options are available from Raytec. Confirm pole diameter, supply and optic before ordering.

Installation notes

Raytec cites installation guide 1286-D-00002 for SPARTAN Street Zone 1/Zone 2 (SPX and SPZ). The cable is supplied pre-terminated, so the supply connection should be made in a suitably certified enclosure or junction outside the luminaire. Adjustable grub screws allow fixing to smaller poles, and Raytec offers pole adaptors on request.

The temperature limit is +50 °C ambient for gas and dust marking, so confirm pole-top conditions on hot sites against the T4 and T80 degrees C ratings in the certificates.

Applications in Oman and the GCC

SPARTAN Street suits plant roads, tank farm perimeters, loading bays, jetty approaches and pipeline stations where fixed lighting is installed in classified outdoor areas. The 128 lm/W efficacy and low power consumption deliver significant energy savings, as Raytec states in the datasheet.

Selection and installation notes

A luminaire for a classified area is selected from the zone, the gas or dust group and the temperature class stated on the certificate, and the installation must follow the local hazardous area rules. Use certified glands and cable, keep the enclosure sealed, do not modify the unit, check the supply voltage and the mounting height for the light level needed, and keep records of inspections as the site procedure requires.

Information needed for a quotation

Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.

Documents and supply information

The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
