Mapa Professional KryTech 600 Oil-Proof Cut Level B Gloves

Description

An oil-proof nitrile glove with low-risk cut protection

Mapa KryTech 600 is a 13 gauge glove with a nitrile GRIP&PROOF coating on a seamless HDPE fibre liner. The sheet rates it as low risk, ISO B cut protection, and describes cut, grip and skin protection for very oily environments. The coating is oilproof, repelling oil penetration and reducing dermatitis, and gives excellent abrasion resistance.

The ISO 13997 cut value is 6 N (612 g) and the EN 388 code is 4X42B. The glove also has EN 407 X1XXXX (contact heat level 1) and the ISO 18889 mark GR for re-entry tasks with pesticides. It is Category 3 and certified OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 and DMF free.

Cut B, oil and the rest of the KryTech family

EN 388 4X42B reads abrasion 4, blade cut X, tear 4 and puncture 2, plus ISO cut level B. At 6 N this is a light cut level: it protects against light edges and burrs, not against knife-edge sheet. If your parts have sharp edges, step up to the KryTech 586 (level D) for dry work.

The point of this model is the combination of grip and oil resistance. The sheet lists tasks such as handling oily mechanical parts, machining with cutting oil and handling in wet environments with water, oils, greases and hydrocarbons. Sizes are 7 to 10 and each pair is bagged individually.

In daily use

Check the nitrile for abrasion at the fingertips and the thumb crotch. Once the nitrile wears through, the oil-proof barrier is gone and the liner will take up oil. Replace the glove at that point.

The contact heat rating (level 1) means only light, short contact with warm parts; the glove is not for hot work. The environmental footprint figure on the sheet is Mapa’s own life cycle estimate carried out by an independent third party and is not a performance value.

The sheet confirms the product is not classified hazardous under Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 and contains no SVHC above 0.1% or annex XVII substance (REACH 1907/2006). Its EU type certificate 0075/014/162/01/19/0175 was extended on 02/01/19 and updated in December 2023, and the quality assurance certificate is 0334 from Asqual. Glove sizes follow EN ISO 21420 numbering: size 8 corresponds roughly to a 203 mm hand circumference, size 9 to 229 mm and size 10 to 254 mm (general information), which helps when you fit a crew.

Oily parts and precision assembly

Mapa lists the automotive industry, logistics, the glass industry and metallurgy, with tasks such as handling and sorting small sharp parts, handling oily mechanical parts, glass handling, pump manufacturing, bodywork assembly, rolling and stamping, machining with cutting oil, maintenance in wet environments and precision assembly. Pump and compressor workshops in oil and gas supply chains fit this profile.

Selection and care notes

Choose this glove where oily metal parts are handled and a level B cut risk is enough. Do not use it as a general chemical glove beyond what the data sheet lists, and check the contact heat rating of level 1 before handling warm parts. Clean it as the label says and replace it when the coating is worn.
