Where the neoprene fits

The six chemicals are mainly acids (sulphuric, nitric, acetic and hydrofluoric) plus methanol and formaldehyde. Neoprene is usually chosen for acids, alkalis and some oils, which agrees with this list. Ketones and aromatic solvents are not listed, so use a butyl glove for those.

The EN 388 code 2121X reads abrasion 2, cut 1, tear 2, puncture 1. The 41 cm length is helpful for dipping or reaching into drums and tanks, but a longer glove can be hotter and harder to don. The sheet prints dexterity 5/5 and the antistatic values 4.5E+10 ohm (surface) and 2.9E+10 ohm (vertical), measured at 25% relative humidity in the palm area. Choose from sizes 7 to 10 and order in bags of 12 pairs, 72 pairs per carton.

Using a long neoprene glove

Keep the cuff outside the work sleeve, or tape it, wherever drips could run into the glove; with 41 cm of length there is room to fold the top edge back as a drip collar. Take off the gloves by turning them inside out, rinse and let them dry in air.

The cotton flock lining helps with sweat and with donning. Replace the glove when the lining begins to roll up inside, when the exterior hardens or when it has been in contact with a chemical not on the list.

The sheet carries the standard legal statements: not classified hazardous under Regulation (EC) 1272/2008, no SVHC above 0.1% and no annex XVII substance under REACH 1907/2006. Its EU type certificate is 0075/014/162/05/18/0802 with an extension dated 01/05/18, issued by notified body 0075 in Lyon, and quality assurance certificate 0334 is held with Asqual in Paris.

Chemical handling, batteries and fertiliser

Mapa lists the chemical industry, automotive industry, agriculture and local authorities (cleaning). Tasks include handling and repotting of chemicals, battery manufacturing, fertiliser spreading and common cleaning tasks. The acid list makes it relevant to battery rooms and water treatment dosing stations, subject to your own chemical check.

Selection and care notes

The 41 cm length covers the forearm and suits tasks with a risk of splashes above the wrist. Neoprene and natural latex are combined, so check for latex sensitivity among users. Compare the six listed test chemicals with the substances on site, rinse after use and replace the glove if the lining or the coating is damaged.
