Ordering code and what it tells you
In 2711P-T10C21D8S, 2711P is the PanelView Plus 7 range, T marks a touch-only terminal and 10C is the 10.4-inch display. The 21 means one Ethernet port, while terminals ending 22 have two ports. D indicates 24V DC power and the final 8S identifies the Standard model; the Performance models use 9P.
The catalog number with a -B suffix is the same terminal without the Allen-Bradley brand marking, and it is a different orderable number.
Installation, power and storage
The terminal is 252 mm high, 297 mm wide and 56.5 mm deep, and it needs a 224 x 269 mm panel cutout. It weighs 1.82 kg. Operating temperature is 0 to 55 °C and the enclosure is rated NEMA and UL Type 12, 13 and 4X for indoor use, with IP54 or IP66 as classified by UL.
Real-time clock backup uses a CR2032 coin cell, and the application can be stored on a 1784-SD1 or similar SD card. The recommended power supply is the 2711P-RSACDIN DIN-rail unit for 85 to 265V AC input.
Is the Standard model the right fit?
The 2711P-T10C21D8S makes most sense on a single machine or skid controlled by one ControlLogix 5570 or CompactLogix 5370 processor. The Standard model’s limits of one controller connection, 100 screens and 500 alarms are generous for a packaging machine, a pump station panel or a small utility skid, but they become a constraint if the operator station must talk to several PLCs or the application already has a long list of displays. In that case compare against the Performance models identified by 9P in the catalog number before you order.
The 10.4-inch, 4:3 screen at 800 x 600 gives enough space for a process overview with trends and faceplates while still fitting a modest enclosure door. If the terminal will sit on a network shared with other devices, note that the single Ethernet port means it connects as one node; terminals ending in 22 provide a second port if a separate network is needed.
Questions to answer before ordering
- Will the existing application fit within one controller connection, 100 screens and 500 alarms?
- Which FactoryTalk View Machine Edition version is used on site, and is it 8.0 or later?
- Is the branded catalog number or the -B unbranded version required by the machine builder?
- Does the enclosure door have room for the 224 x 269 mm cutout and 56.5 mm depth plus cable bend space?
Installing and commissioning the terminal
Cut the panel opening accurately and fit the terminal so the gasket seats evenly; the Type 12, 13 and 4X ratings depend on a proper seal against a flat, rigid panel. Feed it from a clean 24V DC supply that can deliver the 50 W maximum, keep the supply within the 18 to 30V DC range, and keep the Ethernet cable separated from drive and motor cabling. Load the runtime application from the SD card or over the network, set the date and time so alarm logs carry correct timestamps, and walk through every screen with the operators before the machine is handed over.
Looking after it in service
Keep a copy of the runtime application and the source project on an SD card stored with the panel documentation, because the fastest recovery after a failure is to load the same file onto a replacement unit. Clean the resistive touch screen with a soft cloth and avoid sharp tools on the surface. The backlight is not replaceable, so a screen that has become noticeably dim after long service is a sign to plan a replacement terminal. If the clock loses time after power-off, the CR2032 coin cell is the first thing to check.
Using PanelView Plus 7 in Omani plants
The 0 to 55 °C operating limit is the figure to watch in the region. An enclosure in direct sun or near a hot process can exceed it, so mount the panel in shade, use enclosure cooling where required, and measure the temperature inside the cabinet during a summer afternoon. Note that the Type 4X rating is for indoor use only, so an outdoor station needs a sun shield or a secondary enclosure. Fine dust and coastal humidity are best handled by keeping the door gasket intact and the cabinet sealed, rather than leaving doors open for ventilation.
Documents and quotation
The 2711P-TD008 technical data lists environmental limits, certifications including Class I Division 2 and ATEX zones, and the display tables used here. For a quotation send the 2711P-T10C21D8S reference, series, firmware and the controller type. Confirm the exact catalog number and series before ordering. Related products are shown in HMI Displays.

About brand
Catalog numbers beginning 1756, 1734, 1746 or 5069 are read at a glance by anyone who maintains Allen-Bradley control panels. The brand, the control hardware name of Rockwell Automation, dates back to 1903 in Milwaukee, USA. Seven Star LLC sources and supplies Allen-Bradley PLC and I/O modules, communication adapters and PowerFlex drives for plants in Oman, matching catalog number, series letter and firmware against the manufacturer's documentation.
Allen-Bradley product families listed here
Current controller platforms on this page are ControlLogix, with the 1756-L85E ControlLogix 5580 controller and the 1756-PA72 chassis power supply, and CompactLogix 5380, with the 5069-L320ER and 5069-L340ERM. Distributed I/O is represented by POINT I/O: the 1734-AENTR dual-port EtherNet/IP adapter and the 1734-IB8 digital input module. Allen-Bradley drives listed include the PowerFlex 525 and PowerFlex 755. For installed systems there are SLC 500 parts: the 1746-A10 chassis, 1746-NI16I analog input module, 1747-ASB remote I/O adapter, 1747-KE interface and 1747-M13 memory module.
Where Allen-Bradley hardware is used
ControlLogix and CompactLogix controllers run packaged equipment and plant utilities: compressor and pump skids, water and wastewater plants, power distribution, material handling and packaging lines. PowerFlex drives control pumps, fans and conveyors. Many SLC 500 racks are still in service.
Ordering Allen-Bradley modules and drives: what we need
Send the full catalog number, the series letter and, for controllers and communication modules, the firmware revision printed on the side label. Compatibility with an existing project depends on these. For PowerFlex drives, give the complete catalog string, which encodes voltage, current rating, enclosure and options, plus the motor nameplate data. For SLC 500 parts, tell us the rack size and processor so that we can check slot and power supply loading in the manufacturer's manuals. A label photo avoids most mistakes.
