Micro Motion T-Series Straight Tube Coriolis Flow and Density Meters
Description
Straight-tube Coriolis metering for hygienic service
The Micro Motion T-Series is a single straight-tube Coriolis meter with a built-in balance bar. The straight, titanium flow path drains in any orientation, can be cleaned or sterilized in place (CIP and SIP), resists plugging and can be pigged. It measures mass flow, volume flow, density and temperature, and the datasheet describes an ASME Bioprocessing Equipment Standard based design with EHEDG clean-in-place approval and, with optional sanitary fittings, compliance with the 3-A Sanitary Standards for milk and dairy products.

Fittings, finish and transmitters
Fittings include socket-weld and weld-neck flanges to ASME B16.5 CL150 to CL600 and EN 1092-1, Tri-Clamp compatible hygienic fittings, DIN 11851 and DIN 11864-1A couplings, and O-ring face seal fittings, with the exact list depending on the size. The 15 Ra finish suits ultra-pure fluids. Transmitters range from compact integral units to field-mount, DIN-rail and two-wire versions with 4-20 mA, HART, WirelessHART, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, FOUNDATION fieldbus, PROFIBUS and Modbus outputs. Smart Meter Verification checks meter health in under 90 seconds without interrupting the process. For a dual-tube alternative see the Micro Motion G-Series, and for transmitters the Micro Motion 5700.
On the plant floor the practical advantages come from the straight geometry. The tube diameter matches standard process tubing, so the meter drains in any orientation, product change-over is fast, and there are no profile effects from bends. The datasheet adds that full secondary pressure containment is available, and that Coriolis meters need no flow conditioning or straight pipe runs. Remember that titanium is the only wetted metal, so check cleaning chemicals and fluids against titanium.
What to confirm before ordering
- Product, viscosity, flow range and CIP or SIP temperatures and pressures
- Sensor size and finish (T or F) and the calibration code
- Hygienic fitting type and size, or flange rating
- Transmitter, outputs and hazardous area approval
- Whether 3-A or EHEDG documentation is required, because it depends on the fitting selected
How the Micro Motion T-Series works
The meter has one straight titanium tube with a balance bar beside it. A driver makes the tube vibrate. When fluid flows through the tube, the vibration shifts in phase between two points, and the shift is proportional to mass flow. The vibration frequency gives the density, and a temperature sensor corrects the readings. The transmitter turns these signals into mass flow, volume flow, density and temperature.
Where the Micro Motion T-Series is used
- Food and beverage lines with clean-in-place cycles
- Dairy and milk handling
- Pharmaceutical and biotech processes
- Viscous or slurry products that can clog a bent tube
- Lines that are pigged
Selection checklist for the Micro Motion T-Series
- Sensor size: T025, T050, T075, T100 or T150
- Surface finish, 30 Ra or 15 Ra
- Calibration code for the accuracy needed
- Process fitting type and standard
- Maximum working pressure
- Hazardous area rating of the site
- Transmitter type and mounting
- Cleaning and sterilizing method
Installation, commissioning and maintenance notes for the Micro Motion T-Series
Mount the sensor so that it drains, since the straight tube can drain in any orientation. Support the pipework so that its weight does not load the sensor. Keep strong vibration sources away. Zero the meter with the line full and the flow stopped. After cleaning cycles, check the zero and the density reading against a known fluid.
Requesting a quotation for the Micro Motion T-Series
Please send the sensor size, the fittings, the transmitter and the quantity. Seven Star LLC serves industrial customers in Oman and the GCC and replies with a quotation based on the information provided.
Micro Motion T-Series sensor sizes
The five sensors are T025 for DN6, T050 for DN15, T075 for DN20, T100 for DN25 and T150 for DN40. The sizes cover very small dosing lines up to larger transfer lines.
Micro Motion T-Series liquid accuracy
Mass flow accuracy is 0.15 percent for calibration code Z and 0.10 percent for codes 1 and K. Code K is not offered on the T025.
Micro Motion T-Series density accuracy
Density accuracy is 2 kg/m3 for code Z, 1 kg/m3 for code 1 and 0.5 kg/m3 for code K.
Micro Motion T-Series gas measurement
For gas, the mass flow accuracy is 0.5 percent of rate and repeatability is 0.25 percent of rate.
Micro Motion T-Series flow range
The nominal and maximum flow runs from 680 kg/h for the T025 up to 87,000 kg/h for the T150.
Micro Motion T-Series pressure rating
The maximum working pressure is 1,450 psig, about 99.97 barg. With purge fittings the case rating is 725 psig.
Micro Motion T-Series weight
Sensor weight runs from 6 kg for the T025 to 62 kg for the T150, with CL150 flanges and without electronics.
Micro Motion T-Series materials and finish
The wetted flow tube is titanium Grade 9. The fittings are clad with titanium Grade 1 or Grade 5. The 15 Ra finish suits ultra-pure fluids.
Meter records for the Micro Motion T-Series
Record the sensor model, the calibration code and the zero value at commissioning.
Choosing the right Micro Motion T-Series size
Choose the size by the flow range and by the pressure drop that the line can accept. A smaller sensor reads better at low flow, and a larger one passes more product.

About brand
Coriolis flow and density meters have carried the Micro Motion name since 1977, when the company started in Boulder, USA. A Coriolis meter measures mass flow directly and reads density from the same tubes. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Oman, lists the Micro Motion ELITE CMF400 Coriolis flow and density meter and the compact G-Series, and sources Micro Motion flow meters by complete model code.
Micro Motion meter families
ELITE is the manufacturer's top performance family for flow and density, and the CMF400 is one of its larger line sizes. The G-Series is a newer, very compact family for general duty. Each sensor is paired with a Coriolis transmitter, and the range also includes density and viscosity meters. Liquids, gases and slurries can all be measured, which is why these meters appear in oil and gas, refining, chemical, food and marine service.
Ordering Micro Motion meters: what we need
A Micro Motion sensor and its transmitter each have their own model code and serial number; send both. For a new meter we need the fluid, flow range, density, viscosity, operating pressure and temperature, line size, process connection and rating, wetted material, hazardous area approval, outputs and protocol. Custody transfer duty in the GCC should be stated up front because it changes the approvals and calibration options requested.

Frequently Asked Questions
It is a single straight tube with a built-in balance bar, so it drains in any orientation, is easy to clean in place and steam in place, and can be pigged.
The flow tube is titanium ASTM Grade 9 and only titanium is in contact with the process flow; flanges are stainless steel and sanitary fittings are titanium Grade 1 clad to 304L.
T is a 30 Ra (0.76 µm) surface finish and F is the improved 15 Ra (0.38 µm) finish, for example T100T or T100F.
Liquid mass flow accuracy is ±0.15% with calibration code Z, ±0.10% with code 1 and ±0.10% with code K, which also gives ±0.5 kg/m3 density.
All T-Series sensors are rated 1,450 psig (99.97 barg); the process connection and temperature can reduce the usable rating.
