Brand:

Additel ADT875 Series Dry Well Temperature Calibrator

Description

A portable dry block built for the plant floor

The Additel ADT875 series puts a temperature source, a colour touchscreen and, optionally, a complete documenting process calibrator into one case of 8.6 to 9.9 kg. Three base models split the work: the -155 reaches down to -40 C for cold-chain and refrigeration sensors, the -350 covers most process thermowell work, and the -660 handles furnace, boiler-feed and exhaust sensors. Typical jobs are RTD and thermocouple verification, transmitter loop checks and thermostat or temperature-switch tests.

Because the block is heated and cooled in place, a technician can bring the calibrator to the instrument rather than send sensors to a laboratory, and the dual-zone control keeps the temperature profile along the insert tight enough for short probes.

What the datasheet highlights

  • Dual-zone control, and set point control by reference: the block can be driven from the internal sensor or from an external reference PRT.
  • Self-calibration of the internal control sensor against an external reference.
  • CYOR (Choose Your Own Range) optimisation over a customer-selected span.
  • Auto step, ramp, remote control, data logging and a stability indicator on the screen.
  • Full HART field communicator on the PC version, with DD files updated periodically.
  • Eight interface languages and USB A, USB B, RJ45, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth communication.

Choosing and ordering

Order codes follow ADT875-155-A-110 V: the model range, an insert letter for the bore pattern and the 110 or 220 V supply setting. Pick the lowest range that covers your sensors, because the -155 offers the tightest stability and the -660 the widest span. Specify the PC option if the same case must also read a reference thermometer and test transmitters, and ask for CYOR if all of your work sits in a narrow band. Inserts are sold separately in drilled and blank patterns, so list your probe diameters when you enquire.

Operation and safety from the manual

The manual asks users to run the Dry-out function for more than 2 hours if the calibrator has not been used for over 10 days. A high-temperature symbol appears whenever the block is above 50 C, and neither the probe nor the insert should be touched while the unit is on. Use the supplied insert removal tool, keep the calibrator away from flammable, humid or dusty surroundings, never apply more than 30 V to the PC inputs, and do not clean it with liquid.

Where it is used in the Gulf

Refinery, gas-processing and power-station instrument shops use dry wells to verify RTDs and thermocouples before shutdowns, and HVAC and food-cold-chain contractors use the -40 C range. A rugged portable block also suits field calibration at remote sites where dust and heat make wet baths impractical.

Selection and installation notes

A dry well gives good results only when the probe fits the insert closely and has enough immersion depth. Select inserts with the right bore for the sensors you calibrate, let the block stabilise at each set point, place the unit on a stable heat-resistant surface with room around it for ventilation and let it cool before it is moved. Follow the manual for the highest and lowest temperatures and the safe handling of hot inserts.

Information needed for a quotation

Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which temperature ranges does the ADT875 series cover?
Three base models: ADT875-155 from -40 to 155 C, ADT875-350 from 33 to 350 C and ADT875-660 from 33 to 660 C, all quoted at 23 C ambient.
What does the process calibrator option add?
The PC option adds a reference PRT readout, two device-under-test channels for mA, voltage, switch, RTD or thermocouple, a 24 V loop supply, a HART communicator and documentation of up to 1,000 tasks.
What is the CYOR option?
Choose Your Own Range: you state the upper and lower temperature you need within the model range and Additel calibrates and optimizes the dry well over that span.
How is the internal control sensor kept accurate?
A self-calibration function runs an automated calibration of the internal control sensor against your external reference, so long-term drift does not have to be added to the uncertainty.
What safety steps does the manual give for storage and use?
Run the Dry-out function for more than 2 hours if the unit has been idle for over 10 days, do not touch the insert or probe while hot, and never exceed 30 V on the PC inputs.
