Flowmeters
Turbine & Positive Displacement Flowmeters
Turbine and positive displacement flowmeters measure volume by counting the rotation of a rotor or of gears, giving high accuracy for fuels, oils, chemicals and gas. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, supplies these meters from KRACHT, Elster, Daniel, Faure Herman, Cameron NuFlo, Titan Enterprises, KOBOLD, Liquid Controls, Tecfluid and Veeder-Root to customers in Oman and the GCC.

Types of turbine or PD flowmeter in this category
Liquid turbine meters such as the Daniel Series 1200 and 1500, Faure Herman Heliflu-TZN, Cameron NuFlo FE-1000 and 1502 WECO, Tecfluid TM and Titan 800 measure refined products, crude and water. Gas turbine and rotary meters including the Elster TRZ2, Quantometer Q/Q75, RABO and IRM-3 DUO measure natural gas. Positive displacement meters like the KRACHT VC, VCA, VCM and SVC, Titan OG3, KOBOLD DON-H and Liquid Controls M and MA series measure viscous liquids, fuels, LPG and ammonia, and the Veeder-Root EMR4 provides electronic registration.
How to select a turbine or PD flowmeter
Define the fluid, viscosity, flow range, pressure and temperature. Turbine meters suit clean, low-viscosity liquids and gases with good straight runs; PD meters suit viscous fluids and low flows and need little straight pipe. Check accuracy class, custody transfer approvals, materials, connections and the register or transmitter output.
Data needed for a quotation
Send the meter model, or fluid, viscosity, flow range, pressure, temperature, connection, output and quantity.
What to include in your inquiry
These details let us quote the right item the first time.
- Fluid and its state (liquid, gas or steam)
- Line size and pipe material
- Flow range: minimum, normal and maximum
- Operating pressure and temperature
- Output or protocol (4-20 mA, HART, pulse, Modbus)
- Hazardous-area classification, if any
Missing some of them? Send what you have. A nameplate photo or an old part number is enough to start.

Frequently Asked Questions
For viscous liquids, very low flows or where straight pipe runs are short. Turbine meters are better for clean, thin liquids and high flows.
Yes. Gas turbine meters such as the Elster TRZ2 and Quantometer are common in gas distribution and fiscal metering.
Yes. Both turbine and PD meters have close tolerances and should be protected by a strainer or filter.
An electronic or mechanical display, such as the Veeder-Root EMR4, that totalises volume and can print tickets or send data.
