Iskra iMC330 Three-Phase Multimeter, 600 V Autorange
Description
iMC330 is the Iskra three-phase panel multimeter for monitoring low-voltage networks. It measures true RMS voltage and current with automatic current ranging, keeps four four-quadrant energy counters with tariffs, and offers 16 programmable alarms. The same data sheet describes the iMC350 network recorder, which adds an 8 MB recorder to the same hardware family.
A DIN-style panel multimeter with energy counters and alarms
The iMC330 measures more than 60 quantities in single-phase and three-phase systems, including U, I, P, Q, S, power factor, power angle, frequency, THD and maximum demand, with harmonics up to the 31st. It records energy like an electricity meter in all four quadrants and up to four tariffs, so one device can serve as a sub-meter, a monitoring point and a basic control unit.
Two optional module slots, each carrying a double input or output module, let the meter drive pulse, relay or alarm outputs and read tariff or digital inputs. Settings can be made with five front keys on the illuminated 128 x 64 graphic LCD, or from a PC with the free MiQen software over RS232, RS485 or USB.
Features stated in the data sheet
- Autorange measurement up to 600 VL-N and 12.5 A; active energy accuracy class 0.5S.
- Four energy counters switched by a tariff input (the tariff clock belongs to the iMC350); harmonics up to the 31st.
- Up to four I/O points: tariff inputs, digital inputs, pulse or relay outputs.
- Modbus RTU and DNP3 protocols; RS232, RS485 or USB communication; service USB for set-up without auxiliary power.

Reading the ordering code
The ordering code in the data sheet has nine positions: device type, current connection (T through-hole or C screw terminal), frequency, voltage input (ARNG autorange 50 – 500 V, or fixed 63V5, 110V, 240V), energy accuracy class (S active class 1, H active class 0.5S), auxiliary supply letter (U universal full range, A to J fixed AC voltages), communication (N without, S RS232, D RS485, U USB), I/O module 1/2 and I/O module 3/4.
Finish options are A standard, P IP54, H tropical seal (HVE) and S ship version. The data sheet example iMC350 S ARNG S U U M T T A describes a recorder with universal supply, relay and tariff modules and USB.
Installation notes from the user manual
Before energising, check nominal voltage, supply voltage, frequency, voltage ratio, phase sequence and current-transformer ratio. The manual recommends a protection fuse of maximum 6 A (red-dot type or equivalent) and states that a current transformer secondary must be short-circuited before the meter is connected.
The service USB port is not galvanically isolated: supply and measuring voltages have to be disconnected while it is used, and the connection is time limited. Compare every module and communication terminal with the label before wiring.
Typical uses in industrial and utility panels
General engineering note: a three-phase multimeter with alarm outputs and pulse outputs suits motor control centres, generator and feeder panels, and building distribution boards. The tariff inputs and clock allow time-of-use sub-metering, and the 16 alarms can drive relay outputs for over and under voltage, frequency or overload supervision.
The tropical and Bureau Veritas ship versions listed in the data sheet suit humid or marine installations; confirm option letters before ordering.
