Ridgegear RGA22 Sliding Beam Anchor Trolley
Description
RGA22 is the Ridgegear sliding beam anchor, also called a beam anchor trolley, a mobile EN 795:2012 Type B anchor for a single user on horizontal I-beams. It is made from steel alloy, weighs 1.9 kg and has a fully articulated 55 mm D-ring.
A moving anchor for work along a beam
A fixed anchor makes the worker connect and reconnect, leaving moments of exposure between points. The sliding anchor travels with the user, so the lanyard stays above, which Ridgegear says reduces the pendulum swing in a fall. Release buttons make beam-width adjustment quick.
The data sheet gives the dimensions as 490 mm long, 76 mm wide and 200 mm high with a maximum jaw thickness of 35 mm, and traceability by batch number. It can also be used for rope access.

Selection and ordering guide
The RGA22 fits warehouses, steel erection, bridge work and plant maintenance where the worker must travel along a beam. Note that the website text and the multilingual user instructions quote beam ranges different from the data sheet (the instructions list roughly 63.5 mm to 384 mm), so confirm the beam flange against the current Ridgegear document before ordering. This page uses the data sheet figures.
For a roof or round structure use the RGAN1 strap on this site instead.
Ordering note: RGA22 is the product code printed on the data sheet, the product page and the instructions, and the traceability on the unit is by batch number. Because the user instructions and the data sheet are not identical on beam range, request written confirmation of the supported flange width and thickness for your steelwork, and check the top-mount or bottom-mount position that suits the beam and the lanyard angle.
Installation and operation notes
The instructions list installation as bottom mount or top mount on a horizontal I-beam: press the safety lock, place the anchor on the flange, bring the sliding clamps against both sides of the flange, then secure the lock. Loads on the anchor must remain within 30 degrees of the beam vertical centre line.
Check before each use for cracks, dents, bending or wear on the hexagonal rod, clamps, safety lock and quick-release pin, and for corrosion; record the date in the inspection log. Periodic examination is at least every 12 months.
The Ridgegear instructions describe periodic examination at least every 12 months by a competent person following Ridgegear instructions, with the product withdrawn and tagged do not use while it awaits examination. Any repair or alteration may only follow the manufacturer’s procedures. The notified bodies named are VVUU in Ostrava for the EU examination and INSPEC International for annual module D surveillance.
Applications in Oman and the GCC
Steel erection, warehouse racking beams, crane runway maintenance and plant gantries in the GCC, where horizontal travel along a flange is common. Clean periodically with water and mild soap, avoid acids, and store cool, dry and dark.
Limit free fall to the maximum the instructions allow and keep a rescue plan.
Capacity: one person of combined weight not more than 140 kg (310 lb) with clothing and tools. Personal fall arrest systems used with the anchor must limit free fall to a maximum of 6 feet, and where free fall is greater, up to 12 feet, an energy-absorbing lanyard is recommended. Connectors must be self-closing and self-locking to avoid roll-out, and dynamic force on the user must be limited to 6 kN.
