Alicat L-100CCM Liquid Flow Meter 100 CCM

The Alicat L-100CCM is a volumetric liquid flow meter with a full scale of 100 cubic centimetres per minute. In the range-specific table of the L-Series sheet, sizes from 2 to 500 ccm share a 2.0 PSID pressure drop with water at full scale and 1/8 inch NPT female ports.

Small liquid flows with a display and a digital bus

The L-Series measures liquid flow with a laminar flow element and the same interactive display used across Alicat instruments, showing flow, temperature and pressure together. Volumetric accuracy is 2 % of full scale with 0.2 % of full scale repeatability, over a flow range of 2 to 100 % of full scale, and the sensor responds in under 1 ms.

Operating pressure is 100 PSIG, so the meter suits low-pressure dosing, coolant, sampling and laboratory circuits rather than high-pressure hydraulics. A tare before use removes the zero offset for the liquid in your line.

Alicat lists L-Series sizes from 0.5 ccm to 10 lpm; the 100 ccm size sits in the 2 to 500 ccm group that shares 1/8 inch NPT ports and mounting holes. The LS variant uses FFKM elastomers as standard for harsher fluids, and the LB variant is the battery-powered portable.

State the liquid, the viscosity, the line pressure and the communication option when you ask for a quotation, because the meter is calibrated for the fluid you name.

Because the meter reads volumetric flow, the indicated value depends on the liquid being the one it was set up for, and a change in viscosity or temperature shifts the result slightly; the sheet allows for this with its temperature sensitivity figure of 0.02 % of full scale per degC. Plan a loop that keeps the liquid within the -10 to 60 degC range, avoids dry running and lets you tare when the line is full and still. Where several L-Series sizes are installed, the 100 ccm unit is the same body as the 2 to 500 ccm group, so spare connectors and mounting hardware are interchangeable across that group.

Installation and operation notes

The Alicat L-Series manual calls for a clean, bubble-free liquid stream and a filter upstream of the meter; trapped gas will upset the reading. Mount with the flow arrow matching the line direction and purge air before taring.

Check that thermal expansion cannot trap liquid and raise pressure above the 200 PSIG damage limit, and tare only with the meter full of static liquid.
