KELLER Series 26Y Level Probe 4-20 mA 0.1 to 10 bar
Description
KELLER Series 26Y is a high-accuracy piezoresistive level probe, a submersible 4…20 mA transmitter that measures hydrostatic pressure from 0…0.1 to 0…10 bar. The AISI 316L body is 21 mm in diameter and about 73 mm long, weighs about 60 g without cable, and the cable gland is rated IP68.
Hydrostatic level from a probe hanging on its own cable
The datasheet lists hydrostatic pressure measurement, groundwater and surface-water level, and fill-level measurement in water and fuel tanks as typical uses. The probe is compensated over 0…50 degC and KELLER claims many years of maintenance-free operation.
Ranges are given in bar and metres of water column, and the analog interface can be scaled to other units. Accuracy is at most 0.25 %FS above 0.3 bar, 0.5 %FS from 0.15 to 0.3 bar and 1.0 %FS from 0.1 to 0.15 bar, with a total error band of 0.5 %FS above 2 bar and 1.0 %FS from 0.3 to 2 bar at 0…50 degC.
Key features as printed in the datasheet
- 2-wire 4…20 mA, supply 8…32 VDC.
- Standard shock voltage protection (50 A line-line, 200 A line-case, 8/20 us); optional lightning protection to 10 kA.
- Cable sheaths for water (PE or polyolefin) and for fuels (TPE-E); lengths 5, 10, 15, 25 or 40 m.
- Intrinsically safe 26Y-Ei version available for explosive atmospheres.
- Medium temperature -20…85 degC.

Selection and ordering guide
Choose the range from the maximum depth: the table gives the water column in metres beside each bar range, and PAA 0.8…2 bar ranges need a special measuring range for sites above 2000 m. Select PR (vented, with capillary in the cable) for open tanks and wells, or PAA where the cable cannot be vented.
Pick the cable sheath for the liquid (water or fuel) and length (5 to 40 m standard). Specify the optional G1/4 connection if the probe will be fixed instead of suspended, and the lightning-protection option for long outdoor cable runs.
Installation and operation notes
Since the cable carries the reference capillary for PR versions, keep the cable end in a dry terminal box and do not kink or flood it. The diaphragm sits recessed behind the end cap, marked M in the drawing, so take care not to damage it during handling.
Mount the probe vertically for the stated 1.5 mbar position dependency, and select the fuel sheath where hydrocarbons are present.
Applications in Oman and the GCC
In the Gulf, level probes of this class serve water tanks, wells and boreholes, stormwater and wastewater sumps, and fuel-storage tanks. The 85 degC medium limit and the water or fuel cable choice should be checked against each application, and the Ei version is the route for classified areas.
Compatible accessories and related items
Related KELLER probes include Series 26X (RS485 and analog), 36XS, 36XiW and the digital Series 36XW listed on this site. Before ordering, confirm the maximum depth, cable sheath, cable length and any lightning-protection option with the datasheet, since each probe is made to the specified cable length.

About brand
KELLER is a Swiss manufacturer of piezoresistive pressure sensors and transmitters, founded in 1974 in Winterthur by physicist Hannes W. Keller, who had co-invented the integrated silicon measuring cell in 1966. Its breakthrough came in 1977 with an order for 1,000 OEM measuring cells. KELLER is family-run, led by Tobias and Mike Keller since 2019.
