SEKO Tekna TPG Digital Solenoid Dosing Pump 0.4-110 l/h

The SEKO Tekna TPG is the digital-interface member of the Tekna solenoid dosing pump range. Where the AKL has a front knob and the APG a six-position switch, the TPG adds a display menu with proportional dosing, a timer, ppm dosing, statistics and a password, and it can talk MODBUS. It is a plastic-housed pump in IP65 fibreglass-reinforced polypropylene with a PVDF head and PTFE diaphragm.

Five sizes span 0.4 to 110 l/h and 0.1 to 20 bar, so the same electronics are reused from a laboratory-scale 0.4 l/h feed to a 110 l/h bulk chemical line.

A programmable metering pump for water and wastewater chemistry

The TPG is the Tekna to choose when the dosing rule is more than a fixed rate. It can follow a water meter pulse in division or multiplication mode (1:n or n:1), follow a 4-20 mA flow or analyser signal, or dose by ppm against a set flow. That makes it a natural fit for chlorine and hypochlorite dosing on potable-water booster stations, polymer and coagulant feed at wastewater plants, and biocide programmes on cooling towers, where the dose has to track flow. A remote ON-OFF input lets a level switch or PLC enable the pump, and statistics help plant staff see how much product has actually been pumped.

Ordering with the TPG key code

The datasheet key code is TPG, size (500, 600, 603, 800 or 803), supply N, liquid end, installation kit, seals, optional and customisation. The liquid end letter H means PVDF, A is PVDF with automatic degassing (not for the 803 hydraulic) and I is SS316L. The installation kit can be H (PVDF), P (PVDF-T), X (with a 1.5 bar injection valve) or 0 (without kit, only for SS316L). Seals are 0 FKM-B, 1 EPDM, 2 PTFE, 3 FFKM (not on 803), B FPM for sizes 603 and 800, and C EPDM, a special seal for car-wash applications. The example in the datasheet is TPG 800 N H H 0 0 00.

Choose the size from the pressure you actually have at the injection point, not from the maximum flow alone. The 803 gives 110 l/h only at zero back pressure and falls to 20 l/h at 5 bar.

Installation, commissioning and care

Mount the pump on a wall or base bracket below the day tank where possible so the suction line stays flooded, use the manual priming valve until liquid is delivered, and set the mode with the selector menu. SEKO limits the site to 40 C and 90 percent humidity, away from sun and weather, so in outdoor Gulf installations a shaded cabinet is advisable. Pressure data were measured with the SEKO standard injection fitting.

Where it is used in the GCC

The TPG suits municipal and industrial water treatment: hypochlorite at reservoir inlets, pH correction on cooling-tower blowdown, antiscalant ahead of reverse-osmosis membranes at desalination and boiler-feed plants, and polymer dosing at sewage works. Because the housing is plastic and the head PVDF, it handles acids and hypochlorite better than metals, but it is not marked for hazardous areas; for those use the Tekna ATEX.
