Brand:

Rheonik RHM160 Coriolis Mass Flow Meter Sensor 30000 kg/min

Description

The largest Rheonik Coriolis sensor for terminals and pipelines

The Rheonik RHM160 is a high-flow Coriolis mass flow sensor for terminal transfer, allocation metering, viscous fluids, and barge, ship, rail car and truck filling. With a nominal flow of 30000 kg/min (about 1800 tonnes per hour, derived) and 12 inch flanges, it measures large loading and pipeline streams directly in mass. The torsion-driven oscillation system is described as drift-free with good signal to noise ratio and no moving parts to wear.

Note that the published datasheet is an older document (version 1.0, August 2019), so confirm current specifications before ordering.

Benefits named by the datasheet

  • Torsion oscillator design with stable measurement and resilience to external noise and vibration.
  • Insensitive to pipe pressure changes; robust tube wall thickness for abrasive applications.
  • Corrosion resistant with a long sensor life attributed to low mechanical stress.
  • AnyPipeFit custom process connections and approval for hazardous areas with a suitably rated RHE transmitter.

Pressure rating by flange and tube material

Flange and material Maximum pressure Pmax
A1 12 in 150# RF, M1 SS 316Ti 18.6 bar at 50 C; 16.4 bar at 120 C
A2 12 in 300# RF, M1 SS 316Ti 46.7 bar at 50 C; 42.9 bar at 120 C
D1 DN300 PN16, M1 SS 316Ti 16 bar at 50 C; 15.2 bar at 120 C
D2 DN300 PN40, M1 SS 316Ti 32 bar at 50 C; 30 bar at 120 C
A1 12 in 150# RF, M3 Alloy C22 19.5 bar at 50 C; 16.9 bar at 120 C
A2 12 in 300# RF, M3 Alloy C22 60 bar at 50 C; 50 bar at 120 C
D1 DN300 PN16, M3 Alloy C22 16 bar at 50 C and 120 C
D2 DN300 PN40, M3 Alloy C22 40 bar at 50 C and 120 C

The pressure code P1 means that Pmax depends on the material and flange selection, so the flange class sets the practical limit. The headline figure of 50 bar is therefore reached only with the 300# or PN40 flange in Alloy C22.

Choosing flanges and options

The seal-less parallel (PF0) design is offered with ANSI 12 in 150# RF (A1) and 300# RF (A2) flanges and DIN DN300 PN16 (D1) and PN40 (D2) flanges. Options listed include enclosure heating for high temperature applications, cleaning for oxygen service and project painting. Choose a calibration and, for live volumetric flow, a density calibration with an RHE transmitter that supports live density. The part number code selects the temperature range (N1 -20 to +120 C, NA -50 to +120 C or E3 -196 to +50 C), the wetted material (M1 or M3), a terminal box (JM, SM, TM or J5 for an integral RHE45), the approval, a pressure design compliance field (PED module B3.2+C2, or CRN for Alberta or other provinces) and manufacturing instructions such as oil-free cleaning or marine packing.

Approvals as printed

ATEX and IECEx for zones 0, 1 and 2 and North American approval for Class I, Div. 1, groups A to D are stated, in each case with a suitably rated RHE transmitter. The order code prints the sensor markings as A0 Ex II 1G Ex ia IIC T1-T6 Ga, A1 Ex II 2G Ex ia IIC T1-T6 Gb and C0 CSA Class I, Div. 1, groups ABCD. ABS Type Approval is listed for marine vessels. The options page lists hot oil or steam heating matrices, housing purge connections, SS 316 housing, dye penetrant inspection and X-ray testing, and its heading refers to the RHM80L, so confirm which options apply to the RHM160 when you request a quote.

Use in the Gulf

Export and import terminals, ship loading and bunkering, and large pipeline allocation points are where meters of this size are applied. Seven Star can quote the sensor with the suitable transmitter on request.

Selection and installation notes

A Coriolis sensor is sized from the flow range and the pressure drop, so confirm the fluid, density, viscosity, operating pressure and temperature before ordering. Mount the sensor on a rigid support without stressing the pipe, keep it full of liquid, avoid mounting where vibration from pumps reaches it and follow the orientation and drain advice in the manual. Zero the meter with no flow once the line is full, record the settings, and choose the electronics and output type that match the control system.

A sensor of this size is heavy, so plan the lifting, the supports and the flange loads with the piping engineer.

Information needed for a quotation

Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.

Documents and supply information

The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.

About brand

Rheonik designs and manufactures Coriolis mass flow meters and the transmitters that drive them, with its head office in Odelzhausen, Germany, where it was founded in 1986. Its meters measure mass flow, density and temperature directly, independent of fluid properties.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Rheonik sensors and transmitters with their official datasheets for oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical and filling applications in Oman and the GCC.

Rheonik product series

RHM sensors on this site cover a wide range of sizes: the RHM06 for about 36 kg/min, the RHM20 for 480 kg/min, the RHM40 for 1500 kg/min, the RHM100 for 12,000 kg/min and the RHM160 for 30,000 kg/min. Tube materials, pressure ratings and process connections are chosen through the order code.

RHE transmitters include the RHE21 Ex d field mount transmitter, the RHE42 all-digital field transmitter, the RHE28 universal mount transmitter and the compact RHE26 and RHE46 units for panel or DIN rail mounting.

Where Rheonik meters are used

Custody transfer and loading of hydrocarbons, chemical injection and dosing, high-pressure gas and hydrogen measurement, batching and filling, and measurement of viscous or hot fluids.

Ordering Rheonik meters: what we need

Give the fluid, flow range, line pressure and temperature, process connection and hazardous area class. Sensor and transmitter approvals must match, so we confirm the full order code for both before ordering.
