Brand: JUMO
JUMO 909710 Screw-In and Weld-In Thermowells
Description
Thermowells that let you change a sensor without draining the line
The JUMO 909710 data sheet describes screw-in pockets (909710/10, /11 and related types) and the weld-in pockets of 909712 that carry thermocouples and RTD temperature probes. A thermowell is used whenever the sensor must be replaced without draining the system or when the process pressure is too high for a bare probe, and JUMO states operating pressures up to 450 bar with temperature-dependent loading diagrams.
Pockets are machined from solid bar and can be supplied with an EN 10204 3.1 acceptance certificate for the material (extra code 374). Screw-in versions have a G 1/2 or G 3/4 connection; weld-in versions are tapered or stepped and fit M18 x 1.5 or G 1/2 female sensor threads to DIN 43763 and DIN 16179.

Order code logic
A screw-in pocket is ordered as 909710/10-848-8-100-104-26/000: basic type, operating temperature code, sheath diameter D (8 or 13 mm), fitting length EL, process connection (104 for G 1/2), sheath material (26 for 1.4571) and extra code. Weld-in pockets follow the same pattern with basic types 909712/15, /20, /50 and /51, sheath material codes 03 (steel 1.0305), 26 (stainless 1.4571, max. 400 C) and 36 (steel 1.7335, max. 500 C), and the same extra codes. The example in the sheet is 909712/15-848-12-100-000-03/374.
Match the pocket length L to the immersion length EL of the thermometer: the data sheet states that EL values refer to the fitting length of the sensor and L is the length of the pocket itself.
Selection checklist
Check the loading diagram for the actual process temperature and pressure and remember that the data sheet pressure figures contain no safety margin for flow velocity; the maximum pressure that can be sealed on the thread may be lower. For hot steam or high-velocity lines, ask for the dimensioned calculation of wake frequency before choosing the diameter.
Stainless 1.4571 suits most chemical and water duty up to 400 C, while 1.7335 (a chrome-moly steel) is used for the 500 C class. Thermowell length is usually chosen so the sensor tip sits in the middle third of the pipe cross-section.
Documents and quotation
Open the attached JUMO 909710 / 909712 thermowells data sheet (EN) for the complete data and dimension drawings. Before you place an order, confirm the pocket length, material and pressure loading with the system designer, then submit your request with the exact code; our team prepares the quotation. About brand
Temperature measurement is the origin of JUMO, founded in 1948 in Fulda, Germany, as a maker of glass thermometers. Today the catalog covers sensors and transmitters for temperature, pressure, level and liquid analysis, plus controllers and recorders. Seven Star LLC lists JUMO RTD probes, pressure and differential pressure transmitters, pH, conductivity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen instruments, and sources them for plants in Oman.
JUMO product families listed
JUMO uses family names that recur across the catalog:
- dTRANS: transmitters, including dTRANS T01 and T100 for temperature, dTRANS p02 DELTA for differential pressure, and dTRANS pH 02 and CR 02 for liquid analysis
- Wtrans: wireless probes and transmitters, such as Wtrans T for RTD temperature and Wtrans p for pressure
- digiLine and ecoLine: digital and optical analysis sensors, for example the digiLine O-DO S10 dissolved oxygen sensor and the ecoLine NTU turbidity sensor
- NESOS: float-based level transmitters and switches
- RTD temperature probes: screw-in types such as 902030 and mineral-insulated designs
Where JUMO sensors are used
JUMO sensors and transmitters are typical of food and beverage lines, water and wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical utilities, heating and cooling systems, and packaged machinery supplied to the GCC by European builders. Many requests are for a like-for-like replacement of a probe fitted by the machine maker, where length, thread and connector have to match exactly.
Ordering JUMO parts: what we need
JUMO identifies each product group by a six-digit type number, such as 902030, followed by an order code that fixes the options. The label of the delivered item normally carries a part number as well. Send whichever you have, ideally both, or a photo of the label. For JUMO temperature probes add insertion length, diameter, process connection, sensor type and wiring. For JUMO pressure sensors state range, output, process connection and electrical connector. For analysis sensors name the transmitter they connect to and the cable length.
