Brand:

Daniel Series 1500 Liquid Turbine Flow Meter DN25-DN600

Description

A custody transfer turbine meter for pipelines, tank farms and FPSOs

The Daniel Series 1500 Liquid Turbine Meter is Daniel’s large-capacity turbine meter for custody transfer and check metering of crude oil and refined products, covering line sizes from DN25 to DN600. Its stainless steel internal assembly uses a dual-hanger suspension that supports the rotor upstream and downstream, centres and balances it in the flow tube, and provides positive bearing lubrication, with standard tungsten carbide journal bearings for near-frictionless rotation. Electronics are potted to withstand vibration and shock. Typical applications in the guide include pipelines, in-line blending, tank farm and storage inventory control, ship and rail car loading, and FSO and FPSO installations. The guide is dated October 2025.

Rotors, preamplifiers and selection

Bladed rotors are listed for DN25 to DN150 and rimmed rotors for DN80 to DN600, with lightweight rotors for DN80 to DN300 on light products, and the guide notes that a rim-type rotor is not recommended on the smallest sizes. Preamplifier choices include dual channel, intrinsically safe, zero crossing and bi-directional types. Choose the Series 1500 when the line is larger than DN100 or when bi-directional or high-temperature operation is needed; for DN25 to DN100 load-rack duty see the Daniel Series 1200 guide. Related flow computers such as the FloBoss S600+ and all Flowmeters are listed on the site.

How the Daniel Series 1500 works

Liquid flowing through the meter turns a rotor. The faster the flow, the faster the rotor turns. Pickoff coils sense each blade as it passes and make a pulse. Each pulse stands for a small, known volume, so counting the pulses gives the volume and the pulse rate gives the flow rate. The rotor is held by two hangers, one upstream and one downstream, so it stays centred in the tube.

Installation, commissioning and maintenance notes for the Series 1500

Install the meter with straight pipe or flow conditioning as the guide advises. Keep the line full and free of gas. Wire the pickoffs to the preamplifier and to the flow computer or totalizer. Prove the meter on the fluid it will measure. Check the bearings and rotor at planned intervals.

About brand

Daniel is a flow measurement brand based in Tomball, Texas, USA, known for liquid turbine meters and the Senior orifice fitting used in custody transfer and fiscal metering.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Daniel meters and fittings for operators and contractors in Oman and the GCC.

Daniel product series

Liquid turbine meters include the Series 1200 for DN25 to DN100 and the Series 1500 for DN25 to DN600.

The Senior dual-chamber orifice fitting from 2 to 24 inch allows the orifice plate to be removed and inspected without stopping the flow. Turbine meters are calibrated against a prover for each product, while orifice measurement follows standards such as AGA 3 and ISO 5167 for gas.

Where Daniel equipment is used

Crude oil and product loading, pipeline metering stations, gas measurement and fiscal allocation in oil and gas fields.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which line sizes and flow capacity does the Series 1500 cover?
DN25 to DN600 (1 to 24 in.). The standard linear range runs from 1.6 to 16 m3/h on DN25 up to 954 to 9,539 m3/h on DN600, with higher extended maximum flow for limited duty.
What rotor and bearing options exist?
Rimmed, bladed or light product rotors, with standard tungsten carbide journal bearings and a dual-hanger stainless steel internal assembly that supports the rotor upstream and downstream.
Can it measure reverse flow?
Yes, bi-directional flow is an option. In bi-directional meters the minimum flow rate in the reverse direction is 20 percent of the maximum extended flow rate.
How does the dual LME help with proving?
Each local mounted enclosure has two pickoff coils and a dual-channel preamplifier. A second LME gives four pulse outputs in two pairs, each 90 degrees electrically out of phase, for redundancy and for metering and proving requirements.
Is Seven Star LLC a distributor of Daniel?
No. Seven Star LLC is an independent industrial supplier in Muscat and is not a distributor or agent of Daniel. We check the model, size and options against Daniel documentation before quoting.
