KRACHT KF 0 Stainless Steel Process Gear Pump

Description

Small stainless steel gear pump for precise dosing

The KRACHT KF 0 stainless steel is an external gear pump built for dosing in process technology. KRACHT designed it for liquids such as PU components, plasticisers, resins, adhesives, lacquers and paints, where the accuracy and repeatability of the dosed volume decide the quality of the end product. The pump is offered in four nominal sizes from 1.0 to 4.0 cm³/rev, so the dosing ratio between two or more pumps can be set by choosing the right size.

Fine gearing with a high number of teeth gives a low-pulsation flow. Combined with a KRACHT flow meter and control electronics, the KF 0 can be extended into a closed-loop dosing unit. The housing is stainless steel 1.4404 and the pump is free of non-ferrous metals.

Pressure limits and seal choice

The permissible outlet pressure of the KF 0 depends on viscosity. According to the datasheet, size 1.0 is limited to 5 bar at 10 mm²/s and reaches 60 bar only above 500 mm²/s, while sizes 1.6 to 4.0 reach 60 bar from 30 or 100 mm²/s. These values apply to 1000 to 3000 rpm; at lower speeds the working pressure must be reduced. For thin fluids, a larger nominal size running slower is therefore often the better choice.

Two sealing concepts are available. A single rotary shaft seal suits most media. The double rotary shaft seal with threaded quench ports allows a liquid seal, which keeps media that harden or crystallise in air, such as isocyanates, away from the seal lips. The type key also covers direction of rotation (right or left), the flange version and the seal material code (2 = FKM, 32 = PTFE, 82/98 = quench FKM/PTFE).

Where the KF 0 is used

Typical uses are two-component metering of polyurethane, adhesive and sealant dispensing, colour and additive dosing and laboratory or pilot plants. Larger flows are covered by other pumps in KRACHT’s industrial pumps range, such as the KRACHT KD1 gear metering pump.

Documents and quotation

The KRACHT datasheet (EN, 10/2019) with dimensions, type key and pressure tables is attached. For a quotation, send the full type code if known (for example KF 0/2.5 S10K P00 0QT 2/516), or the medium, viscosity, flow rate, outlet pressure, temperature, direction of rotation and seal preference, and we will match the right size.

About brand

Gear technology runs through the whole KRACHT catalog: gear pumps to move oil, gear flow meters to measure it, gear motors to drive with it, and the valves that protect the circuit. The company was established in 1911 and is based in Werdohl, Germany. Seven Star LLC lists KRACHT pumps, flow meters, valves and hydraulic motors, and sources them by type key for machinery and marine users in Oman.

KRACHT pumps, flow meters and valves listed

The listing follows four product groups, pumps, fluid measurement, valves and drives:

  • Pump technology: KF gear pumps for transfer of lubricating and other fluids, the KF-F version for fuels, and KP high pressure gear pumps
  • Fluid measurement technology: gear type flow meters such as the VCA in aluminum
  • Valve technology: SPV and SPVF pressure relief valves, the DBD directly controlled poppet valve, HV and HVF pilot operated valves and the DV B hydraulically pilot controlled valve
  • Drive technology: KM hydraulic gear motors

Where KRACHT equipment is used

KRACHT equipment serves the marine, renewable energy, process technology and hydraulics industries. In practice that means lube oil and fuel oil transfer on engines, gearboxes and compressors, oil supply units, and metering of oils, resins, paints and other viscous media with gear flow meters in dosing and test bench systems. Enquiries from the GCC are mostly for a KRACHT pump or valve fitted to an imported machine or a ship's auxiliary system.

Ordering KRACHT parts: what we need

KRACHT products carry a type key on the nameplate that encodes size, direction of rotation, shaft end, housing and seal material, connections and special numbers. An example from this page is SPV 10 L1G 1 A 12. Send the complete key and the serial or order number shown with it. If the plate is damaged, send the fluid and viscosity, flow rate, operating pressure and temperature, drive speed, port type and size, and photos with main dimensions. For KRACHT flow meters add the measuring range and the pickup or electronics required. We compare the key with KRACHT documentation and supply the manufacturer's data sheet on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

What displacements does the KRACHT KF 0 stainless steel offer?
Four nominal sizes are available: 1.0, 1.6, 2.5 and 4.0 cm³/rev.
What is the maximum outlet pressure?
Up to 60 bar, depending on the medium, viscosity and nominal size. Size 1.0 at 10 mm²/s is limited to 5 bar.
Which materials are used?
