Brand:

Tapflo CTI Industrial Centrifugal Pump AISI 316L

Description

A stainless steel centrifugal pump family for industrial transfer duties

The CTI is the industrial execution of Tapflo's CT centrifugal pumps: single-stage, open or semi-open impeller pumps made from AISI 316L stainless steel, with a glass-blasted casing finish. The same brochure covers the CTH hygienic version, but the CTI is the one for chemicals, oils, fuels, solvents, cooling and heating media, wastewater and tank unloading in chemical, mining, oil and gas, printing, automotive and machinery plants. Sizes A to E are driven by IEC three-phase motors from 0.37 kW to 11 kW.

Options for difficult liquids

A flushed seal recirculates a little product from the discharge through a strainer to protect the seal chamber when abrasive or sticky particles are present. A buffer fluid system with an oil reservoir suits products that solidify or crystallise, a heating jacket keeps the product at temperature, and a long-coupled execution on a baseplate with coupling guard handles up to 180 C for oils or paraffin wax. The semi-open impeller option gives a more stable operation, lower noise and vibration and is recommended when hard solids may be present. Mounting brackets, a casing drain and a built-on inverter are further options.

How to read the model name

CT models are named by the size letters and the motor power, for example CT AA-03 or CT DG-60 for a 2-pole 50 Hz pump, with the 4-pole models carrying an extra digit such as CT AA-024. The brochure publishes performance curves for 2900 rpm 50 Hz, 1450 rpm 50 Hz and 3500 rpm 60 Hz, with water at 20 C, so quote the frequency with the enquiry. The CTI complements the hygienic CTH and the self-priming CTS-I. Tapflo lists the main benefits as a simple compact design, low maintenance cost, open impeller with solids handling, high-grade materials, a competitive price-quality ratio and many options; the pumps are REACH and RoHS compliant, with certificates that may vary by material execution.

For portable duties the brochure shows mobile pump units: industrial stainless steel trolleys in three sizes with a compact baseplate, accessories such as on-off switches, frequency inverters and cable holders, and a CTI mobile transfer pump on a dedicated trolley.

How the Tapflo CTI centrifugal pump works

A motor turns an impeller inside the casing. The liquid enters at the centre of the impeller and is thrown outward by its rotation, which raises its speed and then its pressure. The CTI is a single-stage pump, so one impeller does the whole job. The casing and impeller are stainless steel, and a mechanical seal keeps the liquid from leaking along the shaft.

Where the CTI pump is used

  • Chemical transfer
  • Oils, fuels and solvents
  • Cooling and heating media
  • Wastewater
  • Tank unloading

Selection checklist for the CTI pump

  • Pump size from A to E
  • Motor power and 2-pole or 4-pole speed
  • Liquid temperature and viscosity
  • Largest particle size
  • Mechanical seal material
  • O-ring material
  • Open or semi-open impeller
  • Thread or flange connections

Installation, commissioning and maintenance notes for the CTI pump

Fix the pump on a firm base and keep the suction line short and sealed. Fill the casing with liquid before starting, since the seal must not run dry. Check the rotation direction. Inspect the seal for leaks at regular intervals and keep a spare seal set.

Requesting a quotation for the Tapflo CTI

Please send the liquid, the flow and head, the temperature and the quantity. Seven Star LLC serves industrial customers in Oman and the GCC and replies with a quotation based on the information provided.

CTI pump materials

The casing and impeller are AISI 316L stainless steel. The casing is glass blasted.

CTI pump pressure and temperature

The maximum pressure is 10 bar. The maximum temperature is 90 degrees C, or 180 degrees C for the long-coupled version.

CTI pump motors

IEC three-phase motors from 0.37 kW to 11 kW drive the pump, with IP55 protection.

CTI pump seals

The standard seal is ceramic and carbon. Silicon carbide options are listed.

CTI pump connections

Size A has a 1 inch inlet and a 3/4 inch outlet. Sizes D and E have a 2 1/2 inch inlet and a 2 inch outlet.

CTI pump options for difficult liquids

A flushed seal, a buffer fluid system and a heating jacket are listed.

Pump records for the CTI

Record the serial number, the seal type and each service date.

Choosing the right CTI pump size

Choose the size from the flow and head you need, then check the motor power.

CTI pump long-coupled version

The long-coupled execution sits on a baseplate with a coupling guard and handles up to 180 degrees C for oils or paraffin wax.

CTI pump semi-open impeller

The semi-open impeller option gives a more stable operation with lower noise and vibration.

CTI pump particle size

The standard open impeller passes particles up to 6 mm in diameter.

Documents and quotation

The CT brochure and the CTI and CTH IOM manual provide dimensions and installation rules. Send the liquid, concentration, temperature, viscosity, solids, flow, head and frequency for a quotation. See other centrifugal pumps or the Grundfos NB for comparison.

About brand

Tapflo is a Swedish family-owned manufacturer of air-operated diaphragm pumps, centrifugal pumps and process equipment, founded in 1980 in Kungälv, near Gothenburg, by Börje Johansson and Hans Emanuelsson. It started as a supplier and agency for industrial pumps on the Swedish market before designing and building its own pumps. The Tapflo Group now has its own subsidiaries in more than 25 countries.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Tapflo pumps for chemical, water treatment and process users in Oman and the GCC.
