Streamlight Survivor ATEX Rechargeable Right-Angle Flashlight

Description

The classic right-angle flashlight in an ATEX-rated rechargeable version

The right-angle head on the Streamlight Survivor ATEX lets the user clip the light to a belt, harness or turnout gear and still point the beam forward. It is a favourite with fire crews and plant emergency teams, and the ATEX version brings the same format into explosive-atmosphere work. A reduced bezel length lessens snagging, and a spring-loaded clip with a built-in D-ring stops the light rotating.

On high the light delivers 175 lumens and 41,000 candela to 405 m, and on low 60 lumens to 237 m. A single large push button gives gloved access to high, low, an emergency flash and a moonlight mode, and black or amber Smoke Cutter plugs reshape the beam in smoke. The rechargeable battery is an industrial 6.2 V lithium pack that can be recharged up to 1,500 times.

Two ratings in one marking

The Survivor ATEX is marked both II 1G Ex ia op is IIB T3/T4 Ga and II 2G Ex ia op is IIC T3/T4 Gb. In plain terms, the light is certified for Zone 0 in gas group IIB and for Zone 1 in gas group IIC, which includes hydrogen. A site with hydrogen in a Zone 0 location would need a different model, such as the Survivor X or Survivor Pivot, which are rated IIC at Zone 0.

The T-class depends on the cell: T4 with the Streamlight pack 90316 or AA Energizer L91 lithium, Rayovac 815 or Duracell MN1500, and T3 with Energizer E91 alkaline or Panasonic LR6XP and LR6XWA. The Smoke Cutter black plug reduces peripheral light for better visibility through smoke and the amber plug reduces eye fatigue.

Survivor, Survivor X and Survivor Pivot

The original Survivor ATEX is the entry model of the right-angle family, with the longest low-mode alkaline run time of the three (20 hours against 15). The Survivor X offers 250 lumens and a IIC Zone 0 marking in a similar body, and the Survivor Pivot adds a dual spot and flood beam and a 90-degree articulating head.

A five-unit bank charger is available for 120, 230 and 12 V DC supplies on the information sheet for fleets and fire stations. Charge only in a non-hazardous area.

Documents and quotation

This page carries the manufacturer’s fact sheet and its information sheet listing the item numbers, and the operating instructions. Confirm the supply voltage, the choice between the rechargeable and alkaline versions, and whether the IIB Zone 0 marking is sufficient for the gases on site. Include the supply voltage, the rechargeable or alkaline choice and the number of units for a bank charger. The Electrical & Power category lists related equipment.

Where Streamlight lights are used

Inspection and maintenance in refineries, gas plants, tank farms and offshore facilities, confined space entry, emergency response and general plant work. Marking, zone, gas group and temperature class differ by model and by the battery fitted, so the certificate and product label must match the area classification.

Ordering Streamlight lights: what we need

Send the five-digit item number with the charger voltage or plug type, colour and quantity. For hazardous-area lights state the zone, gas group and temperature class required, because item numbers vary by certification, voltage and package.
