Mersen BB01EP NH0 Plastic Fuse Base 160A 1-Pole B213142
Description
BB01EP (item number B213142) is a Mersen NH plastic fuse base of size 0, single pole, rated 160 A (power acceptance 25 W) at 1000 V ac, type EP with square contacts. It has screw connection and screw mounting, weighs 0.19 kg and is packed three to a box.
The base that carries NH0 fuse-links
A fuse base is the fixed part of the NH system: the base takes the NH fuse-link, whose blade contacts plug into spring contacts. Mersen describes its plastic bases as polyamide insulating bases with silver-plated contacts, high-pressure spring contacts and screw or rail mounting, available in single-pole and three-pole designs that can be mounted closely in parallel rows.
The contacts are one-piece silver-plated electrolytic copper springs with separate captive steel springs, which the datasheet says makes the contact resistant to high thermal stress. This base accepts NH size 0 fuse-links for voltages up to 1250 V ac and 1000 V dc per the datasheet overview, and it is dimensioned in accordance with DIN 43620.
Key features as printed in the datasheet

Selection and ordering guide
Catalog number BB01EP = base, size 0, 1 pole, EP (square contact) type. The DIN-rail version is BB01EPR; two-, three- and four-pole versions are BB02EP, BB03EP and BB04EP. Type PP (clip contacts) and versions with indirect-touch protection (FS, IP20) are separate items.
Match the base size to the fuse-link: this base fits NH size 0 fuse-links such as those in the Mersen NH0 range; sizes 000, 00, 1, 2 and 3 need their own bases.
Installation and operation notes
Mount with M6 screws and flat washers of 12 mm external diameter (size 0), torque 3.5 – 4.5 Nm. Terminate cables to the M8 terminal at the recommended 8 – 10 Nm; do not exceed 13.2 Nm.
For embedded applications such as railway and maritime, the datasheet asks you to contact Mersen. Use separating plates or covers as accessories where active parts need protection.
Derived check: the power acceptance of 25 W for size 0 means each base can dissipate 25 W from the fuse-link, so for a three-pole row (such as BB03EP, 0.64 kg) the combined acceptance is 75 W. The fuse-link dissipation figures printed in the Mersen NH0 datasheet tables should be compared with this limit when the fuse is run near its rated current.
Applications in Oman and the GCC
Power distribution cabinets, motor control centres, busbar-mounted fuse systems and main distribution boards in industrial, building and utility installations using NH fuse-links for cable protection.
Plastic polyamide bases are lighter and cheaper than ceramic bases, and the 1000 V rating gives margin on 400/690 V networks.
Ordering tip: the package quantity is 3 bases, enough for a three-phase set of single-pole bases, and the item number B213142 is the Mersen order reference. For a three-phase assembly in one piece, the three-pole BB03EP is the alternative; the DIN-rail versions carry an R suffix (BB01EPR, BB03EPR).
Selection and handling notes
The BB01EP base is a plastic single-pole base for NH size 0 fuse-links. Check that the fuse-link size matches, that the busbar or cable terminal fits the screw connection, and that the 25 W power acceptance covers the dissipation of the fuse-link fitted. The base can be mounted on a panel plate with screws, and several single-pole bases can be placed side by side to build a three-phase row. Fit phase barriers where the installation rules require them.

About brand
Mersen is a French maker of electrical power protection products and advanced graphite materials, known as Carbone Lorraine until it was renamed on 20 May 2010. Its history begins in 1891 with a carbon plant in Pagny-sur-Moselle, Lorraine, which the group still operates. In 1893 Charles Street, an engineer at Le Carbone, patented a graphitisation process for making synthetic graphite.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Mersen fuses with the official datasheet attached to each product page, for panel builders and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC.
