Mersen prints the figure at rated current, so with lower load the heat is lower; the base, busbar connections and enclosure ventilation should be sized for the worst case.

Main incomers and large feeders on LV switchboards, substations, pump stations, desalination plants, chiller plants and industrial distribution where NH gG fuse-links protect cables from overload and short-circuit.

For motor circuits with high starting current, consider aM fuse-links (for example NH2AM69V200 on this site) rather than gG.

Selection and handling notes

For a 400 A feeder, check that the NH2 base, busbar connection and cable lugs are all rated for the same current, since the fuse only protects the circuit and does not improve a weak connection. Tighten terminals to the torque stated by the base manufacturer, and use a fuse puller with hand guard when working on a live board. Keep a set of three spare fuse-links on site for each rating in use.
