Mersen FR10GG50V10 Ferrule Fuse 10×38 gG 10A 500V S218194
Description
FR10GG50V10 (item number S218194) is a Mersen cylindrical ferrule fuse-link, size 10.3 x 38 mm, type gG, rated 10 A at 500 V ac / 250 V dc with 120 kA ac and 100 kA dc breaking capacity. It has a ceramic body and silver-plated copper contacts, and the listed version has no indicator.
A 10 A gG cylinder fuse for motor and control circuits
The 10 x 38 mm cylinder is one of the most widely used fuse sizes in panel building, fitted in modular fuse holders and fuse disconnectors on DIN rail. Mersen lists the size 10.3 x 38 gG range from 0.5 A to 32 A at 400, 500 and 690 V, with and without indicator, and with striker versions for 250 and 400 V.
This item is the 10 A, 500 V version without indicator. Power dissipation at rated current is 1.3 W, weight 8.3 g. The datasheet describes gG cylindrical fuse-links as protection for cables, motors and LV networks that limit and cut off unacceptable overcurrents and short-circuit currents up to their nominal breaking capacity.

Selection and ordering guide
Catalog number decoding: FR10 (10 x 38 mm) GG (gG) 50V (500 V) 10 (10 A). The same size at 6 A is FR10GG50V6 and 25 A is FR10GG50V25; 32 A is offered at 400 V as FR10GG40V32. Add an I for the indicator version.
Pick the voltage rating by the system (400, 500 or 690 V ac) and the current by the cable or motor circuit; use the time-current characteristics in the datasheet to check selectivity with upstream fuses.
Sizing hint from the datasheet data: within the 500 V part of the 10 x 38 mm series, dissipation rises from 0.07 W at 0.5 A to 2.7 W at 25 A, and 10 A sits at 1.3 W. Across the whole series the body, weight (8.3 g) and breaking capacity stay the same; only the element changes, so a fuse holder rated for 32 A fits every 10 x 38 rating up to that limit.
Installation and operation notes
Fit in a 10 x 38 mm fuse holder or fuse disconnector rated for the system voltage and current; the holder must suit the 500 V rating.
Replace with the same rating only. A fuse without an indicator needs a test (continuity check) after a trip to find the blown phase.
Derived check: at 500 V ac and 10 A in a single-phase circuit the apparent power is 5 kVA, and at 400 V three-phase about 6.9 kVA (square root of 3 x 400 V x 10 A); these are calculations, not Mersen ratings. Fuse holders for this size have their own voltage and current ratings, so always compare the holder datasheet with the fuse values.
Applications in Oman and the GCC
Motor branch circuits, control transformers, small feeders, capacitor banks and DIN-rail panels in HVAC, pump and process-control cabinets; marine and offshore panels where the printed Lloyd’s Register and Bureau Veritas approvals are relevant.
Check approvals for your project on the datasheet before relying on them.
Selection and handling notes
Fit the 10 x 38 mm fuse in a holder rated for at least 500 V and 10 A, and check the holder size, since 10.3 x 38 mm is not the same as 14 x 51 mm. Without an indicator, a blown fuse is found by continuity test, so label the circuit clearly. Order the exact voltage version, because 400, 500 and 690 V variants share the same size but are not interchangeable in every application.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full item code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC and any matching fuse bases, holders or handles, so that the complete protection package can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, dimensions and protection classes are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
