Accuenergy AcuRev 2100 Multi-Circuit Submeter with SnapOn CTs

Description

AcuRev 2100 is a multi-circuit submeter from Accuenergy that measures 18 single-phase or 6 (or 9) polyphase circuits at the same time. It uses SnapOn current transformer technology, meets ANSI C12.20 class 0.5 and IEC 62053-22 class 0.5s, and measures up to 690 Vac line-to-line directly. The ordering model in the datasheet is the AcuRev 2110.

One meter for a whole distribution board

Tenant billing and branch circuit monitoring usually means many separate meters and a lot of wiring. The AcuRev 2100 concentrates up to 18 circuits in a single housing, with per-circuit current, power, power factor, demand and energy. Any 80 mA, 100 mA or 333 mV (or RCT Rogowski coil) current transformer plugs in through a SnapOn connector with no wiring configuration, which the datasheet says reduces polarity errors and installation time.

Beyond kWh, the meter provides power quality values: voltage and current THD, individual harmonics up to the 31st order, voltage crest factor, current K factor and voltage and current unbalance. These functions are not available with the RCT current option.

Features stated in the datasheet

  • 18 wet-contact digital inputs with an internal 15 Vdc supply, 6 digital outputs and 2 relay outputs.
  • Time of use with 4 tariffs, 14 schedules, 14 segments, weekends and a 10-year holiday list.
  • Ten over/under limit alarms; 8 MB memory standard; WEB2 option adds 8 GB of non-volatile logging memory.
  • Measurement Canada approved variant and BTL protocol conformance listing.

Order code decoding

The datasheet composes the code as Meter Model – Current Input – Communication Option – Application. AcuRev 2110 is the power meter with real-time data logging and advanced power quality; mA means 80 mA and 100 mA CT input, mV means 333 mV and Rogowski coil input; WEB2 adds dual Ethernet and WiFi on top of serial RS485; MC marks Measurement Canada approval, blank is for other applications.

Printed examples: AcuRev 2110-mV-WEB2 and AcuRev 2110-mA-WEB2-MC. All fields must be completed to create a part number, and Accuenergy suggests three CTs per three-phase circuit and a USB-RS485 converter for configuration.

Installation and accessories

SnapOn CTs follow a polarity convention that differs by region: in North America the white lead is positive and the black lead negative; internationally the red lead is positive and the white lead negative. A set of 20 replacement connectors is ordered as SO-SP1.

Other accessories listed are the USB-RS485 converter (up to 1200 m) and the ENC-12127P NEMA 4X enclosure for meters installed outside a protected room.

Typical Gulf applications

The datasheet names commercial buildings, hotels and offices, shopping centres, apartments and condominiums, data centres, hospitals, LEED projects and tenant billing. General engineering note: in multi-tenant towers and villa compounds, one 18-circuit unit per floor distribution board can replace a row of individual meters while giving the building manager one data point per tenant.

Commissioning and enquiry notes

Multi-circuit submeters are used in the region in malls, office towers, residential buildings and data rooms, where many tenant or branch circuits are metered from one distribution board. Map each CT to the right circuit at commissioning and record the mapping, as wrong mapping is the most common source of billing errors. Check the panel temperature in summer and confirm which approvals apply for billing.
