Brand:

JUMO heatTHERM-AT/-DR Surface-Mounted Thermostat with Snap Switch, Type 603070

Description

A surface-mounted capillary thermostat family with push-in terminals

The JUMO heatTHERM-AT/-DR (type 603070) is a surface-mounted thermostat series with a single-pole snap-action switch, push-in terminal technology and a case that suits wall mounting, immersion sleeves and contact fastening alike. One housing therefore replaces several variants. The heatTHERM-DR (design types 7 and 8) has a special bottom section for TH35 DIN rail to DIN EN 60715 or wall mounting, which is convenient in control cabinets. JUMO describes a flue gas automatic reset temperature limiter in the heatTHERM-AT range that locks a gas or oil boiler connected in parallel with a wood boiler to a chimney.

With PUSH IN terminals the conductor is simply inserted up to the stop without tools, cutting connection time by about half according to the datasheet. The contacts switch up to 16 A at 230 V AC directly, so a load contactor is often unnecessary. The range includes temperature controllers (TR), temperature monitors (TW), safety temperature monitors (STW), safety temperature limiters (STB) as single or double thermostats, and flue gas temperature monitors (ATW).

Understanding the heatTHERM function types and variants

The type number 603070 is followed by a four-digit code that identifies the function: 0001 is the temperature controller (TR), 0002 the temperature monitor (TW), 0020 the safety temperature monitor (STW), 0070 the safety temperature limiter (STB), and 0120, 0170 and 0202 are the double-thermostat variants. Stocked versions listed in the datasheet include the TR 0 to 120 degC (part no. 60003185/60003186) and the TW 0 to 120 degC and 0 to 200 degC versions; other control ranges, differentials and process connections are available on request with a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces.

Type Function Certificate
603070/0001, 0120, 0170 TR DIN CERTCO TR1191
603070/0002, 0202 TW DIN CERTCO TW1192
603070/0020, 0120, 0170 STW / STB DIN CERTCO STW(STB)1193

UL approval is ordered as extra code 061, gold-plated contacts as extra code 702 and IP54 as extra code 402. Accessories under product group 606710 include thermowells for one or two probes in brass nickel-plated (48 bar at 150 degC) or stainless steel 1.4571 (88 bar for the single-probe types), with G 1/2 connection and lengths of 100, 150 or 200 mm.

Installation, mounting and safety remarks

Design types 5 and 6 use a PA reinforced bottom section with ABS lid and inspection glass; the setpoint of a TR is adjusted with the external rotary knob, while TW, STW, STB and ATW setpoints are adjusted with a screwdriver after removing the lid and can be checked through the glass. Cables enter through an M20 x 1.5 gland for 6 to 12 mm cable. Pipe mounting uses a clamping belt for pipes of 15 to 100 mm diameter and the pipe temperature may not exceed 120 degC. The rated position follows DIN 16257, NL 0 to NL 90.

An STB locks mechanically when the limit is exceeded and must be unlocked manually once the temperature has fallen by the unlocking difference. If the capillary system is destroyed and fluid escapes, the diaphragm pressure drops and the circuit opens permanently. Nickel-plated brass sleeves are suitable for permanent contact with drinking water only if the plating is intact and inspected regularly. The thermostat suits heating circuits, boilers, water heaters, hot-water storage and electrical heating panels.

As general guidance, record the order code printed on the nameplate before requesting a quotation, and keep the data sheet revision with the project documents so that later replacements match the installed device. Tell us the quantity, the delivery location in Oman and any wiring or mounting accessories you also need, and we will confirm availability and lead time for the exact variant.

About brand

Temperature measurement is the origin of JUMO, founded in 1948 in Fulda, Germany, as a maker of glass thermometers. Today the catalog covers sensors and transmitters for temperature, pressure, level and liquid analysis, plus controllers and recorders. Seven Star LLC lists JUMO RTD probes, pressure and differential pressure transmitters, pH, conductivity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen instruments, and sources them for plants in Oman.

JUMO product families listed

JUMO uses family names that recur across the catalog:

  • dTRANS: transmitters, including dTRANS T01 and T100 for temperature, dTRANS p02 DELTA for differential pressure, and dTRANS pH 02 and CR 02 for liquid analysis
  • Wtrans: wireless probes and transmitters, such as Wtrans T for RTD temperature and Wtrans p for pressure
  • digiLine and ecoLine: digital and optical analysis sensors, for example the digiLine O-DO S10 dissolved oxygen sensor and the ecoLine NTU turbidity sensor
  • NESOS: float-based level transmitters and switches
  • RTD temperature probes: screw-in types such as 902030 and mineral-insulated designs

Where JUMO sensors are used

JUMO sensors and transmitters are typical of food and beverage lines, water and wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical utilities, heating and cooling systems, and packaged machinery supplied to the GCC by European builders. Many requests are for a like-for-like replacement of a probe fitted by the machine maker, where length, thread and connector have to match exactly.

Ordering JUMO parts: what we need

JUMO identifies each product group by a six-digit type number, such as 902030, followed by an order code that fixes the options. The label of the delivered item normally carries a part number as well. Send whichever you have, ideally both, or a photo of the label. For JUMO temperature probes add insertion length, diameter, process connection, sensor type and wiring. For JUMO pressure sensors state range, output, process connection and electrical connector. For analysis sensors name the transmitter they connect to and the cable length.
