Additel ADT601Ex Intrinsically Safe Digital Pressure Gauge

Description

A rugged Zone 0 gauge to replace dial gauges where gas may be present

The Additel ADT601Ex is an economical digital pressure gauge certified for explosive gas atmospheres. It is aimed at fitters and operators who want a clear digital reading, a pressure trend bar and Bluetooth monitoring on a phone, but who cannot take a standard electronic gauge into the area. Additel names oil and gas platforms, refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants and gas processing as typical settings.

Compared with the 680A and 681A gauges, the 601Ex is a simpler instrument: four digits, 0.5% FS accuracy, no data logger and a certificate of conformity instead of calibration data. That makes it the practical choice for routine verification of pumps, compressors and skids in hazardous zones.

Design points listed by the manufacturer

  • Stainless steel case and welded silicon piezoresistive sensor, IP67 and a 1 m drop test.
  • Overpressure protection of 3x for most ranges and a flashing warning when pressure exceeds 120% of full scale.
  • Four membrane buttons with a locking feature; backlit display readable in sunlight, with a horizontal pressure trend bar.
  • Bluetooth BLE 5.3 with 20 m range in open space.

Order code and choosing a range

The code is ADT601Ex-50-GP300-PSI-N: model, accuracy code 50 (0.5% of full span), range part number, range type (PSI or BAR) and port (N, N2, B, B2 or M). Choose the range so that normal operating pressure sits in the upper two thirds of the scale, and remember that ranges above 1,000 psi are sealed gauge. Unlike the 680A and 681A families there is no absolute, differential or barometric version of the 601Ex, and no data logging option.

Safe use

Intrinsic safety depends on using the gauge as certified. Keep the ambient temperature within -20 to 50 C, use only the supplied battery type and replace batteries outside the hazardous area. Check the housing and boot for damage before entering a zone, and keep the certificate and marking information with the instrument for the site permit. If your site classification needs a specific gas group or temperature class, compare it with the printed T4 rating before you take the gauge in.

Where it fits in Oman and the GCC

Gas compression, wellhead, flare and process skids in Oman and the wider Gulf often require certified instruments. A 601Ex can serve as a local readout on filter differential checks, regulator set-up and pump discharge tests. Bluetooth lets an operator note a pressure from a safe distance while the stainless body copes with dust, spray and sun.

Selection and installation notes

Pressure instruments are only as good as their set-up. Check that the pressure range and fitting thread match the system, use the correct adapter and seal, vent the line before connecting and keep the device within its stated temperature range. Leave time for the reading to settle and zero the instrument at atmospheric pressure when the procedure requires it. Keep calibration certificates on file, and plan the re-calibration interval according to your quality system and the duty of the instrument.

For use in a hazardous area, check the certification marking against the zone, gas group and temperature class of the site, use only the approved batteries and accessories, and never open or charge the instrument inside the hazardous area.

Information needed for a quotation

Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.

Documents and supply information

The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.

Accessories and related items

  • Rubber boot 9259 (red), magnetic hanging strap 9040, screen protector 9262 and all-weather cover 9250.
  • Carrying case 9919EX-1 for 601Ex, 680AEx, 681AEx and 685Ex gauges.
  • ACal software 9530-BASIC and 9530-NET and Log II software 9502 for calibration records.

When you send an enquiry, state the pressure range, connection thread, accuracy class and the hazardous area classification of the site so that the exact model code can be confirmed from the datasheet before a quotation is prepared, and keep the datasheet with the installation records.
