Brand:

Hager CDC264J 2P 63 A 30 mA Type AC RCCB

Description

Two-pole residual current device for personal protection

The Hager CDC264J is a residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) with two poles, a rated current of 63 A and a rated residual operating current of 30 mA. Its residual current type is AC, meaning it is designed to detect sinusoidal alternating earth-leakage current. At 30 mA the device is the usual choice for additional protection against direct contact, for example on socket and lighting circuits in single-phase supplies.

An RCCB senses imbalance between line and neutral current. It does not protect against overload or short circuit by itself, so Hager’s conditional short-circuit rating (Inc, 6 kA under EN 61008-1) assumes a suitable upstream device, normally a miniature circuit breaker or fuse.

Current derating and temperature range

The datasheet gives the full 63 A up to 55 degrees C, then 56 A at 60 degrees C, 49 A at 65 degrees C and 40 A at 70 degrees C. Note, however, that the stated operating temperature range is -25 to 40 degrees C, so confirm the intended panel temperature against both lines of the datasheet. The device dissipates 8.1 W at rated current, which adds to the heat load of a compact enclosure.

Choosing the right type and rating

Type AC covers ordinary AC leakage. Loads with electronic supplies that can create smooth DC fault components, such as some drives, EV charging equipment and inverters, may need a different residual current type specified by the equipment maker, so check the equipment manual before selecting. A 63 A rating also assumes the combined load behind the device does not exceed that value; size the upstream protection and the RCCB together.

The device is 2 modules wide and has a neutral pole in the same body, so wiring follows the line and neutral markings printed on the front. Use a test routine with the integral test button as part of periodic inspection.

About brand

Hager is an international, family-owned electrical company headquartered in Blieskastel, Germany, whose portfolio runs from energy distribution and cable management to security systems and building automation. This page lists Hager circuit protection and switching devices that Seven Star LLC can quote from Muscat, each with the manufacturer's own datasheet.

Hager products on this page

The current Hager listings cover miniature circuit breakers, residual current circuit breakers, moulded case circuit breakers from the x250 and h3+ families, a Type 2 surge protection device and a modular contactor. Every product page reproduces the electrical values printed in the Hager datasheet, including breaking capacities, trip unit settings, terminal ranges and dimensions.

How to request a quotation

Send the Hager order code, the system voltage, the prospective fault level and the quantity. Seven Star LLC checks the selection against the Hager datasheet, and flags points to confirm such as ambient temperature derating or network type, before quoting. Hager products are quoted on request and prices are not shown online.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does type AC mean on the CDC264J?
It is the residual current type: the device is designed to detect sinusoidal alternating earth-leakage current.
Does the CDC264J protect against overload?
No. An RCCB detects earth leakage only, so Hager's 6 kA conditional short-circuit rating assumes an upstream MCB or fuse.
What is the trip sensitivity?
The rated residual operating current is 30 mA.
How many modules does it occupy?
Two modules; the body is 35 mm wide, 83 mm high and 70 mm deep.
What conductors fit the terminals?
Solid conductors from 1 to 25 mm2 and flexible conductors from 1 to 16 mm2, tightened to 2.8 Nm.
