Brand:

perma ULTRA High-Pressure Bluetooth Lubricator, 500/1,000 cm³

Description

High pressure for long grease lines and heavy-duty machines

perma ULTRA is a fully automatic lubrication system with a very precise discharge that is independent of temperature and counter pressure. It builds up to 50 bar, offers two cartridge sizes of 500 and 1,000 cm³ and allows weekly and monthly time settings, which makes it the high-capacity member of the perma single-point range.

The manufacturer names drag conveyors, shaker screens, rotary kilns and belt conveyors as typical uses, where high lubrication rates and long remote grease lines keep people away from hazardous points. A Bluetooth function allows operation through the perma CONNECT app.

Sizing an ULTRA installation

Use ULTRA when the grease demand exceeds what a 250 cm³ cartridge can deliver in a sensible interval, or when the line from lubricator to point is long. At up to 50 bar it can push grease through lines that the 7.5 bar STAR units cannot. Choose the discharge period from the machine builder lubrication rate, remembering that weekly settings suit high-consumption points. Because the flyer lists grease only (no oil), use another unit for oil points. Settings and operating status are shown on the backlit display, and the lithium battery pack extends use down to -40 °C where a suitable low-temperature grease is fitted.

The table shows where the other perma single-point models sit.

Model Volume Pressure build-up
perma CLASSIC / FUTURA 120 cm³ Max. 4 bar
perma FLEX 60, 125 cm³ Max. 5 bar
perma FLEX PLUS 30, 60, 125 cm³ Max. 5 bar
perma NOVA 65, 125 cm³ Max. 6 bar
perma STAR VARIO 60, 120, 250, 500 cm³ 7.5 bar
perma STAR CONTROL 60, 120, 250, 500 cm³ 7.5 bar
perma ULTRA 500, 1,000 cm³ Up to 50 bar

Installation and safety

Mount the unit outside the danger zone and run the grease line to the point, prefilling the line with the same grease. The Quick Start Guide and the installation examples PDF show typical arrangements. Real-time configuration and maintenance checks are possible from a distance through Bluetooth, which reduces visits to hard-to-reach spots. See pumps and lubrication equipment.

Selection checks before ordering perma ULTRA

Start with a survey of the lubrication points. For each one, note the grease currently used, the quantity and interval specified by the machine or bearing maker, the length and diameter of the line that would run to the point, and whether the point is inside a guarded or hazardous zone. Compare the required quantity with the 500 and 1,000 cm³ cartridges and the available weekly or monthly discharge periods to find a setting that empties the cartridge within a sensible service interval.

Confirm that the grease is no stiffer than NLGI 2 and that it is compatible with the grease already in the bearing. Mixing incompatible thickeners can harm lubrication, so the bearing may need to be purged or the existing grease type kept. For points where the ambient temperature drops below -20 °C, the lithium battery pack and a suitable low-temperature grease apply, as stated in the specification.

Installing remote grease lines

Choose a mounting location that is easy to reach, protected from impact and outside the danger zone of the machine. Keep grease lines as short and straight as the layout allows, avoid sharp bends, and fix the line securely along its route so vibration does not loosen fittings. Prefill the line and the lubrication point with the same grease before connecting the unit, as the existing installation notes describe, so the first discharge reaches the bearing rather than filling empty tubing.

Label each unit with the lubrication point, the grease type and the date of installation. This makes cartridge changes faster and reduces the risk of the wrong grease being fitted on the next visit.

Commissioning and routine checks

Set the discharge period on the backlit display or through the perma CONNECT app, then confirm that the unit has started and that grease appears at the point after the line has filled. Record the start date and expected end date in the maintenance plan. During routine rounds, check the status on the display or in the app, look for leaks at the connections, and replace the cartridge before it runs empty.

Operating in Oman’s heat and dust

Quarries, cement plants, mining sites and bulk handling terminals in Oman expose bearings to abrasive dust and high summer temperatures. Automatic lubrication helps keep a steady supply of fresh grease at the bearing, which supports sealing against dust ingress. The upper operating limit is +60 °C, so mount units away from kiln shells, hot ducts and other radiant heat sources, and shade them from direct sun where surfaces get very hot. Grease consistency changes with temperature, so review the discharge setting between the cooler and hotter months and follow the manufacturer guidance on long remote lines.

Keeping records for each lubrication point

A simple log that lists each ULTRA unit, its location, grease, discharge setting and cartridge change dates turns automatic lubrication into a predictable routine. Review the log after bearing failures or overhauls to see whether the quantity delivered was suitable, and adjust the setting with the agreement of the machine owner.

Documents and quotation

The manufacturer flyer for perma ULTRA (Art. No. 118466) is attached to this page as a download. For a quotation, send the lubricant you want in the cartridge (grease or oil, brand and grade), the cartridge size, the discharge period, the ambient temperature range, the mounting position and whether the point is in a hazardous area. Please confirm the cartridge type and the approval marking against the manufacturer documentation for your exact order code before ordering; the figures on this page are taken from the flyer and are not a substitute for the operating instructions.

About brand

perma-tec is a German maker of automatic single-point and multi-point lubrication systems, founded in 1934 and based in Euerdorf.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list perma lubricators for maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC.

perma product series

Chemically driven lubricators include the perma CLASSIC 120 cm³ steel housing unit, the perma FLEX in 60 and 125 cm³ sizes, the perma FLEX PLUS with boost function and the perma NOVA, which compensates for temperature.

Electromechanical lubricators include the perma STAR VARIO, the externally powered perma STAR CONTROL and the high-pressure perma ULTRA with Bluetooth in 500 and 1,000 cm³. Multi-point systems include the perma PRO LINE six-outlet grease system and the perma ECOSY 7-litre oil system.

Chemically driven lubricators such as perma CLASSIC and FLEX use a gas-producing element to set the discharge period, while electromechanical STAR models deliver a set volume independent of temperature and can be monitored. perma PRO LINE and ECOSY supply several points from one reservoir.

Where perma lubricators are used

Bearings of motors, pumps, fans and conveyors, chains, slides and guides, especially hard-to-reach or hazardous points where manual greasing is difficult.
