EN 733 close-coupled centrifugal pumps for clean water up to 345 cubic metres per hour

The Pedrollo F is a close-coupled, flanged end-suction centrifugal pump built to the EN 733 dimensional standard, so its flange positions and port sizes follow the common European pattern for end-suction pumps. Pedrollo specifies it for clean water and for liquids that will not damage the pump components, in water supply, pressurization, irrigation, air-conditioning circulation, power washing, firefighting systems and general industrial and agricultural duties. The 50 Hz datasheet gives a performance range of up to 5,750 l/min (345 m3/h) and heads up to 98 m, with motor powers from 1.5 to 75 kW across the series.

The three-phase motors are described as newly developed designs that can be driven by inverters, with IE3 efficiency, class F insulation and IP55 protection; single-phase versions (Fm) are IE2. This makes the F a practical choice where a fixed-speed pump is later converted to variable-speed pressure control.

Size range and how to read the model name

The model name follows the EN 733 pattern of nominal suction diameter over nominal impeller diameter, followed by a letter that identifies the impeller trim and motor rating. For example F 50/200B is a 50 mm connection pump in the 200 size with a 15 kW motor, while F 50/200A is the 18.5 kW version of the same size. The datasheet lists the following frames, each with several trims.

Typical duty examples from the datasheet: F 32/160C delivers 100 to 350 l/min at 24 to 14 m, F 65/200AR delivers 200 to 2,600 l/min at 57 to 42 m, and F 100/250A covers 800 to 5,750 l/min at 89 to 58 m. Check the published curve of the exact trim, because the head falls as flow rises and the best-efficiency point differs by size.

Selection and installation notes

Pedrollo gives a manometric suction lift of up to 7 m, but available suction head should always be checked against the net positive suction head curve of the chosen size, the liquid temperature and the site altitude. The pump is for clean water and similar liquids; abrasive, fibrous or aggressive liquids call for a different design or materials. The datasheet recommends indoor or protected, well-ventilated installation. Counterflange kits with screws, nuts and gaskets and alternative mechanical seals are listed as available on request, as are 60 Hz motors, other voltages and special temperature or ambient adaptations.
