Vertical multistage centrifugal pumps with stainless steel hydraulics up to 160 m head

The Pedrollo HT series is a range of vertical multistage centrifugal pumps with AISI 304 stainless steel impellers, diffusers and external sleeve, a cast-iron pump body and head, and flanged and threaded ISO 228/1 ports. Pedrollo specifies them for clean water free of abrasive particles and for liquids that will not damage the pump components, in domestic, civil, agricultural and industrial use. Named applications are raising pressure in water distribution with pressure tanks, fire-fighting systems, heavy-duty cleaning, industrial power washers and irrigation.

The 50 Hz datasheet covers seven frames, HT 3, 5, 8, 10, 15, 22 and 30, with flow up to 800 l/min (48 m3/h) and head up to 160 m. Motors are three-phase IE3 for HT, and single-phase IE2 (HTm) for the smaller frames. Pedrollo notes that the multistage design gives exceptionally quiet operation.

Frames, stages and flange sizes

The model code reads frame, then number of stages: HT 8/6 is the HT 8 frame with six stages and a 2.2 kW motor, delivering 94 m at zero flow and 34.5 m at 200 l/min. The HT 15/2R, 15/3R and 30/2R models carry an R suffix in the datasheet, so read their curves separately. Head figures shown are at the lowest listed flow and fall as flow increases.

Selection and installation notes

Choose the stage count so that the required head falls in the middle of the curve, away from the shut-off end, and check net positive suction head, since the datasheet limits the manometric suction head to 7 m. The flanged ports and counter-flange option make the pump easy to fit into a pressure-boosting skid; Pedrollo lists counter-flanges, EPDM or Viton O-rings in place of the standard NBR, NPT threaded ports, a dry-running protection kit and 60 Hz or other voltages as available on request.

How the Pedrollo HT pump works

The motor turns a shaft that carries several impellers stacked one above the other. Water enters at the bottom and passes from stage to stage through the diffusers. Each stage adds pressure, so the outlet pressure rises with the number of stages.

Installation, commissioning and maintenance notes for the Pedrollo HT

Fix the pump upright on a firm base and connect clean pipework to the ports. Fill the pump with water before the first start. Check the seal, the motor and the pressure at regular intervals.
