Sauter VUG050F304 DN50 Kvs 40 Flanged Control Valve PN25
Description
The VUG050F304 is a DN 50 flanged two-way control valve from the Sauter VUG series, rated PN 25/16 with a Kvs of 40 m³/h. Its ductile-iron body, stainless-steel trim and 20 mm stroke make it a main-branch valve for chilled-water, hot-water and low-temperature steam loops in building services, driven by Sauter SUT valve actuators.
A DN 50 branch valve for plant rooms and risers
Valves in this size usually control an air-handling-unit coil bank, a heat-exchanger secondary or a riser branch. The datasheet limits the VUG to continuous control of cold and hot water in closed circuits, with a flange to EN 1092-2 form B so it bolts between standard counter-flanges. At DN 50 the plug is stainless steel with a glass-fibre-reinforced PTFE sealing ring, and the leakage rate at maximum Δps is 0.05 % of Kvs or less. Steam service up to 200 °C is also permitted with the same Δpmax values, provided the valve is not run mainly in the lower third of its stroke.

Selection and ordering guide
The first digits give the nominal size and the last digit group the PN rating; DN 15 to 50 are PN 25/16, while DN 65 appears as both VUG065F316 (PN 16) and VUG065F304 (PN 25). Neighbouring sizes are separate orders.

Closing against the pressure, the datasheet gives Δpmax for DN 50 of 4.0 bar with AVM 322 (1000 N), 11.0 bar with AVM 234S (2500 N), 8.5 bar with AVF 234S (2000 N, spring return, Δps 8.5 bar) and 4.0 bar with AVN 224S (1100 N). Warranty applies only with Sauter actuators.
Installation and operation notes
- Mount the actuator directly on the valve with screws; take care not to turn the plug on the seat. The actuator finds the lower seat on commissioning and sets the stroke automatically.
- Fit in any position except suspended; horizontal fitting is limited to 25 kg of weight on the valve.
- Flush the system before commissioning (DIN EN 14336) and fit collecting filters; water quality per VDI 2035; glycol 20 % to 55 %.
- Above 130 °C use intermediate piece 0372336180 and above 180 °C adapter 0372336240; insulate the valve only up to the actuator connecting clip.
- Observe the flow direction arrow; when closing with the pressure the arrow must be pasted over per the fitting instructions.
- Not suitable for drinking-water installations, ATEX zones or safety functions.
Applications in Gulf building services
Large GCC buildings combine long chilled-water risers with high static head, so a PN 25 flanged valve with robust seating is a common pick for AHU coils, plate heat exchangers and district-cooling interface skids. Dust and sand ingress is a site-level matter, but the datasheet requirement for filters and flushing applies to every new Gulf project. Hot-water and low-pressure steam duty up to 200 °C is within the stated range.
Selection and installation notes
A control valve is selected from the flow and the pressure drop, not only from the pipe size. Confirm the Kvs value, the pressure class, the medium and temperature, and the actuator that suits the valve stroke. Fit the valve with the flow direction shown on the body, provide room for the actuator, flush the line before fitting and check the valve travel at commissioning.
