Types of vortex flowmeter in this category

Are vortex meters good for steam?
Yes. Vortex meters are widely used for saturated and superheated steam, especially multivariable types that compensate for pressure and temperature.
What is the main limitation of a vortex meter?
At very low velocities vortices are weak, so there is a minimum measurable flow. Size the meter so normal flow stays well above it.
How does a swirl meter differ from a vortex meter?
A swirl meter makes the flow rotate and measures the frequency of the precessing vortex, which allows very short straight runs.
Do vortex meters have moving parts?
No. They use a fixed shedder bar and a sensor, so maintenance is low.
