STEGO CS 032 Enclosure Fan Heater 1000 W 03209.0-00

03209.0-00 is the STEGO CS 032 enclosure heater with fan, a compact touch-safe PTC unit rated 1,000 W at 220-240 V with a 63 m3/h axial fan. It plugs in through an IEC 320 C18 connector, clips onto a 35 mm DIN rail, and trips an overheating protection with automatic reset if the fan fails.

A 1 kW fan heater for frost and condensation in larger enclosures and installation spaces

Where a convection heater is too slow, a fan heater warms the whole enclosure air volume quickly and evenly. STEGO describes the CS 032 as a compact, slim construction with high heating capacity that helps to prevent frost and condensation in casings and installation spaces. The PTC heating element and plastic casing keep the surface temperature below +80 C, so the unit is touch-safe in application.

Safety is built in: overheating protection reacts in the event of fan failure and resets automatically. Electrical connection is by IEC power plug (C18), so the heater can be exchanged without rewiring; the scope of delivery does not include the female connector or supply line, which STEGO sells separately as accessories.

Selection and ordering guide

Choose the CS 032 over a convection heater when the cabinet is large, deep or cold-started, and fast, even heat is needed. The 1 kW output means the cabinet temperature is normally controlled by an external thermostat (see KTO 111 and ETR 011); STEGO states other switch-off and switch-on temperatures are available on request, which applies to the CSF 032 integrated-regulation series.

The 100-120 V variants (03209.9-xx) have an 18 A inrush current against 12 A here; do not mix them up on a 230 V mains. Select -00 for DIN rail or -01 for screw fixing.

Installation and operation notes

Plug in using an IEC C17 supply line (1 m, 244379, or 2 m, 244380); these are not delivered with the heater. The datasheet gives airflow direction in, vertical, connection at the bottom. Keep the air inlet and outlet free: a blocked fan will make the overheating protection cycle.

Because 1,000 W is high for a small cabinet, calculate the cabinet losses and use the thermostat to avoid over-heating; the datasheet capacity is stated at +25 C ambient and the switch-on temperature tolerance is +5 K.

Applications in Oman and the GCC

Large outdoor cabinets, switchgear rooms, metering kiosks, telecom shelters and frost-prone enclosures in desert nights and mountain sites where the temperature falls well below the dew point.

Also used in cold stores and washdown areas to keep control cabinets above the dew point; for IP-rated protection against spray, check that the enclosure itself is rated, as the heater is IP20.

Selection and maintenance notes

Fan heaters are used where a large enclosure, a kiosk or an installation space must be warmed quickly and evenly. In the region, the main reason is condensation in humid coastal locations and in enclosures that cool down at night. Control the heater with a thermostat or hygrostat so it runs only when needed. Mount it low in the enclosure, keep the air path clear and keep cables away from the outlet. Check the fan for dust during routine maintenance, as a blocked fan will trip the overheating protection.
