Use a wide-span tray when you must carry heavy cable loads across long distances, for example between portal frames or racks. The minimum insertable support spacing is 3 m, so this is not the right tray for short-spaced runs; use EKS or SKSU for 1.5 – 3 m spacing.

Always size the tray against your cable weight per metre at the chosen span using the kN/m table; 600 mm width and 160 mm height give a large cross-section but the permitted load drops as the span grows.

Installation and operation notes

Order WRV 160 straight connectors with the tray; the heavy section needs lifting equipment for 6 m lengths. Mount on cantilever or support structures designed for the stated loads.

Check the access route for 6 m lengths and plan the joint positions relative to the supports as given in OBO assembly information.

Planning note: for a span of 6 m the datasheet allows 1.6 kN/m, which is about 163 kg per metre (general conversion, not an OBO value); a 6 m length therefore carries about 980 kg of cable at its permitted load. Sizing the support structure, brackets and building anchors for those reactions is a design task that must be completed before purchasing.
