Timken Single-Point Lubricators G-Power D-Power M-Power

Description

Single-point lubricators G-Power, D-Power and M-Power

Timken single-point lubricators periodically deliver grease or oil to bearings, chains, guideways and other machine elements. The range has three models: the G-Power, a classic electrochemical lubricator in a metal case; the D-Power, an electrochemical all-in-one unit with a rotary dial; and the M-Power, an electromechanical lubricator with a replaceable cartridge and an LCD display.

Timken states discharge periods from one to twelve months, lubricant volumes from 60 cc to 250 cc, and a constant renewal of lubricant that supports equipment availability. Key applications named are belt conveyors, electric motors, pumps, and fans and blowers, with pillow block bearings, spherical bearings and housings, motor drive and non-drive ends, pump supports and seals among the lubrication points.

All three models are listed for grease up to NLGI 2 or oil, with an outside thread of R1/4. Sources: Timken Single-Point Lubrication Systems brochure.

Selecting a model

The G-Power is the simple, robust option with a one-time activation, a steel housing, and explosion-proof and mining approvals. The D-Power adds adjustable monthly discharge settings, IP 68 protection, outdoor temperature capability and an FM approval, in two sizes. The M-Power is fully automatic and operates independent of temperature and counter pressure, with pressure build-up of up to 6 bar permitting remote mounting up to 5 m, a purge button and red and green LED status signals.

Remote mounting is recommended when guards must be removed to reach the lubrication point, when access is unsafe while running, or when vibration, heat, water or impact could damage the unit. The brochure lists install kits with beam clamp or cage hanger mounting for the D-Power and M-Power.

Selection also depends on the lubricant. Grease up to NLGI 2 and oil are both possible, but oil-filled D-Power units have an integrated oil retaining valve while oil-filled M-Power units need a separate oil retaining valve. Check the mounting thread, hose length, ambient temperature, ingress protection and required discharge period against the lubrication point before ordering, and use the Timken installation guides to activate each unit correctly.

The lubricators discharge a fixed volume of lubricant over the chosen period, so the volume and discharge setting should be matched to the manufacturer lubrication quantity for each bearing or machine element. Over-lubricating can damage electric motor windings, and the brochure advises a grease trap or grease relief at motor bearing positions to avoid over greasing.

Ordering Timken bearings: what we need

Give the complete part number stamped on the bearing, including any prefix and suffix. Inch-series tapered roller bearings have separate numbers for cone and cup, so quote both. If the marking is worn, measure bore, outside diameter and width and tell us the machine and shaft position. For housed units give the housing type, shaft size and locking method. State the quantity and any precision class or special clearance required.

Facts checked against Timken's SEC filings and published company histories, October 2026.
