Accuenergy AcuDC-262 Dual-Channel DC Power and Energy Meter
Description
AcuDC-262 is a revenue-grade DC power and energy meter with one direct voltage input and two current inputs, so one unit can bill two DC outlets such as two EV charging ports. It meets IEC 62053-41 class 0.5, measures 12 to 1000 Vdc at 0.1 percent accuracy and communicates by Modbus RTU over RS485 and Modbus TCP/IP over Ethernet.
Two-outlet DC billing from a single instrument
The AcuDC-262 measures one DC voltage and two DC currents, each from a shunt or Hall effect sensor at 0.2 percent accuracy. Per-channel and total import, export, net and total energy and charge are kept, along with power, demand and ripple factor for voltage and each current.
Billing features include cable loss compensation, an electronic metrology seal that detects unauthorised configuration changes, and a tamper-proof physical seal. Three independent data loggers and one trend logger log at one-minute intervals for up to 16 months, with 16 MB onboard memory.
Features stated in the datasheet
- IEC 62053-41 class 0.5; complies with NIST Handbook 44 and the OCPP requirement of 0.1 Wh resolution.
- Meets or exceeds requirements for CTEP, NTEP, Eichrecht and LNE, and carries UL Recognized certification as printed.
- Extended voltage metering from 1000 V to 1200 V without specific accuracy requirements.
- LCD 256 x 64 pixel display; firmware statistics with timestamps for maximum and minimum values.

Ordering code and sensors
The order code is Meter Model – Voltage Input – Current Input – Power Supply: AcuDC-262-1000V-A1-P2 (external 0 – 100 mV shunt), AcuDC-262-1000V-A2-P2 (4 – 20 mA Hall effect sensor) or AcuDC-262-1000V-A3-P2 (-5 to 5 V Hall effect sensor). P2 means a 12 – 48 Vdc supply.
Shunts of 50 A to 4000 A at 75 mV and Hall sensors HAK21, HAK40 and HAB-16555 are listed as additional sensors, sold separately; the sensor code adds an A2 or A3 output and a B suffix for bi-directional versions.
Wiring and commissioning notes
Wiring diagrams show voltage and current wiring using shunts or Hall sensors on both channels. The unit needs a separate 12 – 48 Vdc supply, and the sensor must match the A1, A2 or A3 code the meter was ordered with.
Configure cable resistance for loss compensation only after measuring the real cable run, and keep the metrology seal and cover seal in place after calibration checks.
Applications
The datasheet names DC fast EV charging stations, data centres, renewable generation and storage, solar PV, wind, DC energy management, DC grids, light rail systems and cellular towers. General engineering note: a dual-channel unit lowers cost per charging gun on twin-outlet chargers.

Commissioning and enquiry notes
DC metering is increasingly needed in the region as EV charging networks, solar PV plants and battery storage systems grow. A dual-channel meter suits chargers with two outlets and DC distribution panels where two feeders must be measured from one shared voltage point. Select the current sensors for the expected range of each channel and follow the wiring and grounding instructions in the manual carefully.
Chargers and outdoor cabinets can become very hot in summer, so check the internal temperature of the cabinet against the meter rating. Where readings are used for billing, confirm with the local authority and the charging network operator which approvals and data formats are required.
Record the channel assignments and sensor settings at commissioning, so later maintenance and billing checks can be traced to the right outlet.
