Brand:

JUMO eTRON T Digital Thermostat for DIN Rail with LC Display, Type 701050

Description

A slim 22.5 mm digital thermostat for DIN-rail panels

The JUMO eTRON T (type 701050) is a compact digital thermostat in a 90 mm x 22.5 mm format for simple heating or cooling control. A single measurement input accepts resistance thermometers, thermocouples or standard current and voltage signals, and the measured value appears on a 3-digit LC display, 6 mm high, with symbols for the temperature unit. An LED shows the state of relay K1, and three front keys set the setpoint and parameters.

The unit snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail and is wired through screw terminals. Heating or cooling action is configurable, the switching hysteresis is adjustable, and a time-delayed switch-on after power-up can be selected so that several machines in a cabinet do not start at the same instant. The parameter level is protected by a code, and a setup program with a PC interface is available as accessory for configuration and archiving.

Order code and input groups

The order code reads 701050 / basic type extension – supply – approval, for example 701050 / 811 – 02 – 000. The version digit is 8 (factory-set, configurable within the measurement input group) or 9 (configured to customer specification). The measurement input group is fixed at order and cannot be switched to another group in the field.

Group Inputs covered
1 Pt100 in 2-wire circuit, Pt1000 in 2-wire circuit, KTY2X-6
2 Fe-Con J, Fe-Con L, NiCr-Ni K
3 0 to 20 mA, 4 to 20 mA
4 0 to 10 V

The relay digit is 1 (one changeover contact, 10 A at 250 V). Supply code 02 is 230 V AC, 05 is 115 V AC and 31 is 12 to 24 V DC or 24 V AC; approval code 000 means none. With supply code 31 the measurement input and supply voltage are not isolated from each other. Accessories are a multilingual setup program and a PC interface with TTL/RS232C converter and adapter.

Sensor pairing, setup and limits of use

The datasheet points to JUMO push-in and screw-in resistance thermometers and to screw-in, push-in and mineral-insulated thermocouples as suitable transducers. Total resistance of sensor plus leads must not exceed 320 ohm for Pt100 and 3200 ohm for Pt1000, KTY2X-6 or resistance inputs, and lead compensation is adjustable through a parameter. The measuring current is 0.2 mA for Pt100 and 0.02 mA for the other resistance types.

For thermocouples the voltage input of -10 to 60 mV can use terminal temperature compensation, which can be switched off through the setup program (0 degC reference). A customer-specific linearization table of up to 20 value pairs can be loaded with the setup program, although this may reduce measuring accuracy. The front panel may be cleaned with the usual cleaning agents but not with solvents such as methylated spirit, white spirit or xylene. The unit suits panel-mounted heating, anti-condensation, fan control and simple limit monitoring where a full PID controller is unnecessary.

The unit includes several protective functions useful in unattended panels. Probe short-circuit and break are recognized for Pt100, Pt1000 and KTY2X-6 inputs, probe break for thermocouples and 4 to 20 mA, and a digital filter with adjustable time constant calms noisy signals. The parameter level is protected by a code against accidental changes, and a measurement offset of -99.9 to +99.9 corrects sensor tolerances. Data are saved in EEPROM, wiring uses screw terminals up to 2.5 mm2 and the housing is polycarbonate to UL 94 V0. Mounting side by side lowers the permitted ambient temperature to +40 degC.

About brand

Temperature measurement is the origin of JUMO, founded in 1948 in Fulda, Germany, as a maker of glass thermometers. Today the catalog covers sensors and transmitters for temperature, pressure, level and liquid analysis, plus controllers and recorders. Seven Star LLC lists JUMO RTD probes, pressure and differential pressure transmitters, pH, conductivity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen instruments, and sources them for plants in Oman.

JUMO product families listed

JUMO uses family names that recur across the catalog:

  • dTRANS: transmitters, including dTRANS T01 and T100 for temperature, dTRANS p02 DELTA for differential pressure, and dTRANS pH 02 and CR 02 for liquid analysis
  • Wtrans: wireless probes and transmitters, such as Wtrans T for RTD temperature and Wtrans p for pressure
  • digiLine and ecoLine: digital and optical analysis sensors, for example the digiLine O-DO S10 dissolved oxygen sensor and the ecoLine NTU turbidity sensor
  • NESOS: float-based level transmitters and switches
  • RTD temperature probes: screw-in types such as 902030 and mineral-insulated designs

Where JUMO sensors are used

JUMO sensors and transmitters are typical of food and beverage lines, water and wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical utilities, heating and cooling systems, and packaged machinery supplied to the GCC by European builders. Many requests are for a like-for-like replacement of a probe fitted by the machine maker, where length, thread and connector have to match exactly.

Ordering JUMO parts: what we need

JUMO identifies each product group by a six-digit type number, such as 902030, followed by an order code that fixes the options. The label of the delivered item normally carries a part number as well. Send whichever you have, ideally both, or a photo of the label. For JUMO temperature probes add insertion length, diameter, process connection, sensor type and wiring. For JUMO pressure sensors state range, output, process connection and electrical connector. For analysis sensors name the transmitter they connect to and the cable length.
